if you skateboard first it will be even easier, snowboarding way easier on rails at least because you can 50/50 much easier like you said, I'd say if you've hit jumps on a skateboard, it's easy or maybe even easier on a snowboard thanks skis because an ollie is more natural, snowboards are lighter and if they're setup right it maybe easier to balance than in ski boots, at this point I've got decades in on both and the only real difference is my snowboard is way lighter, so if I haven't strapped in in a while I send it a little hard and you really take off, I ski more lately because I get more runs in when it's not crowded : ) Both are really fun so if you're just starting out, pick the one you like and stay with it for a while, and maybe one day pick up both like many of us have 😎

100% agree. I do both sports consistently and rails tricks were a lot quicker to learn on board over skis. Skis can split and you have to worry about both vs one solid wider board.

Definitely a skiers perspective. Portraying peddling as a hurdle boarders don’t need to worry about instead of something that makes features 10x easier😂

Skiing is easier to learn, both would probably just as beneficial for keeping you in shape for mtb!

Complete beginners with no experience will struggle more with snowboarding but becoming a top skier is harder then becomming a top snowboarder seems to be the general consensus

Ive been skiing for maybe 8 years and did alpine skiing, got a pair of park skis for this year. Ive never riden switch. Ive been snowboarding for less time but I can ride switch but I am also not as comfortable going fast. Do you think park skiing is better for me? I did park snowboarding a tiny bit and I got fs 180s good but bs and boardslides had trouble with

I'd say try park skiing for a bit since you got park skis. After a while you'll be able to tell which sport you like more!
