The skill tree thing sucks for all players but as a player who doesn't have much time to play and has a crap ton of mechs it hurts extra bad. I might as well stop buying new mechs because there is no way in hell I'm ever going to get even half of these things skilled enough that I can play them without having a big disadvantage. I might even start selling my mechs for c-bills so I can afford skilling up the mechs I play the most.

VompoVompatti hate to burst your bubble but this is a good thing, if you've kept up on notes you will notice that while it might take 4-5mil to master a much you aren't spending the 15 mil on modules one would have to right now per mech let alone not having to buy 3 of each chassis

It's not wasted, you get back all the XP you ever spent and all the C-bills spent on modules, but you need to pay c-bills to spec out the tree, so people that shared modules across all their mechs will have to pay to masters all their mechs.

+Gentleman Reaper The module refund doesn't come close to covering the new costs. Some people who've spent thousands over 4 years now need over 1 billion Cbills to remaster. This is how you tell loyal customers to go fuck themselves.

Fully specing out a mech costs 5,460,000 C-Bills in the new system. In the current system modules cost 3 million to 6 million each, and they only impacted one weapon which encouraged boating which is something they want to move the game away from. Yes, you could swap the modules out now and you are't able to do that in the new system. However the new system also makes it so you don't have to purchase 2 mechs you'll almost never use just to fully master 1. In the cases of a lot of the assaults, that is around 20 million saved. While I agree that giving nothing in the way of C-Bills for fully mastered mech does suck, they may decide before the update goes lives to give an additional few million for every mastered mech you had.

Dude, if you've just downloaded it, have you already played it much? Skill trees present and future provide only marginal benefits. Anybody who's mad is blowing the change way out of proportion. It's a fun game with or without 6 mil worth of skills or 6 mil worth of modules.

Well, I put money into it two years ago when I joined- _Sarah's Jenner_ (which only went towards the donation, not to PGI), _GRID IRON_ and _Jester_. When I rejoined a few days ago, I added $7 so I could get some basic coloring. That's all the money I've spent so far.

Listening to player feedback is literally what they did for the Take 2 on the PTS, dude. They made everything cheaper and less confusing. They split the trees so you didn't have to give up one thing for another. This negative groupthink only hurts players, man.

Current skill system isn't broken. Why is PGI focusing their efforts on things that didn't need fixing in the first place? I'm sorry I spent so much money on this game. But I'm not spending anymore. Not until certain things happen...which they won't so no more money from me PGI.

Because the other things don't make PGI money. The skill tree can potentially (in flawed theory) cause people to spend money specing mechs, so it is prioritized. This is also why it's being pushed through regardless of negative feedback, unlike, say, power draw (no I'm not calling it "energy draw").

The thing everybody in this particular forum misses is that there is a mountain of positive feedback for every whiner. It's being tweaked according to player feedback and it's coming out by popular demand. It's just this bubble on this video and on the salty seas of the Reddit that makes it seem otherwise.
