How I Deal with Losing Streaks: Featuring the Tiger II in World of Tanks!

WoT really is something else... for a decade I avoided PVP games because I figure I couldn't handle the stress. Tried LOL but bounced right off due to the toxicity... Now I'm still super new, not knowing where to go, making tons of mistake, but I played to learn, and winning or losing become secondary. Longest losing streak is around 9 games. I just focus on my play and doing damage. One time I got blabbed to 1 hp left, still managed to make 3 shots before dying. Even with just 200 battles in, there were a few games I managed to affect. I'm really enjoying the journey. Hopefully I can grow more consistent over time.

Thanks for joining the WOT community! The best thing you can do is look up these categories and learn them in depth. Camo mechanics and view range, Ammo types and their uses, Strong map positions, and Armor and angling. Map awareness is something you will get after more games, but it is definitely something you should be actively trying to do. Look at your minimap as often as you can. Don't get stuck staring at the aiming reticle. The most time consuming category is learning all of the armor models for the various tanks. Learning weakpoints, ammo storage location, fuel location, engine location, and crew location is VERY powerful. This isn't too important until tiers 9 and 10. Good luck!

Just play and play and play. It takes a long time to really learn the maps, using your mini map and watching what your team is doing. Then there’s your individual play. I’m quite aggressive so it has hurt me a lot but I’m learning how and when to be aggressive. Keep it up, you’ll get better! I understand sucking, I’ve gotten a handful of messages saying how bad a sucked and should never play. I ignore them or tell them I can careless. I play because I enjoy it not to please you.

Skill, I'm grateful for your advice. Controlling my anger in games has been a struggle of mine for a long time. I was doing pretty well at not getting too stressed out, for a period of about five years. However, ever since Covid hit, I've found my attitude flaring back up, and it has been very hard to be chill. Nope, you would have people going for the max damage/assist instead of the win, an example: when you can win by capping but your team wants to go for the damage and you end losing the battle 'cause your team got destroyed.

@@jeremyts9032 TOP3 by XP from loosing team is fair enough your example describes how it is going on nowdays when players see they get weak team they sing if they can or just camp and farm no matter if they can win or lose and it ruins the game. If players can get "reward" also when they have bad team and lose but they try to play well it will be better and can motivate others to not give up

I can play in the morning or early afternoon and come out with an 80% wr... then there's like someone threw a switch and I'll lose 10 straight. It does start to improve again as bedtime hits. IF WG has a match maker, it's broken.

I just truly wish the games weren't clearly rigged for wins or losses. If it was actually random, you might lose 3 or 4, but then it would balance out over a fairly short period. For the last 3 evenings I have been playing 20ish games a night, and I've been on the losing side 80 - 90% of the time. Literally less than 10 wins out of 60 games gets a bit frustrating. I'm glad to see you face the same issues, and I truly appreciate the good example you set for me...

Nothing in the game is rigged. The randomness of the game is precisely why you sometimes get 10-15-20 game lose streaks. Think of it as flipping a coin. There s 50% chance for it to be heads and 50% chance for it yo be tails. It is also statistically possible for you to flip a coin 10 times and for it to be heads 10 times in a row, the chances are just lower. Frustrating as it is, without losing streaks you wouldn t have winning streaks either. A truly rigged system would have given you from a total of 60 games played 30 wins and it would have lost you (no matter what you do) 30 games. Without the randomness aspect of the game, there wouldn t be any feeling of achieving something great when you hit those 15-20 game winning streaks.

The other night i played 18 games. I had 15 losses and 3 wins. On my last loss before i quit for the night i took 5 mins to look at all 30 peoples rating. The enemy teams average was 5600, my teams average was 4200. THATS THE PROBLEM. When the enemy team has a bunch of really good players and my entire team is below average players, there is no way we can win. Now my question is WHY i get put on the bad teams 8 out of 10 times? Im almost always top 3 on my team and my wtr is 5700 and my wn8 is 1800. Now if im just above average, why do i get put on the bad team almost every game?

Tiger II is just heavy in name. The only thing it has going for it is a gun, The armor is the same as a random soviet medium so treat it as a medium tank and let other heavy tanks go in first. Lol if I would go back that far with a heavy tank ppl would scream BOT! NOOB! REPORT HIM!

I would be happy if they counted Draws as No Contests or 1/2 Win and 1/2 loss. 300 Draws pull me below 50% even though I have 250 more wins than losses.

i usually don't really care about win rate because when it comes to games like wot, even if you do everything you can, you might still end up losing. that is not to say that i don't try winning matches, and that i do not make mistakes, but just that sometimes there's nothing you can do to avoid a defeat. i started playing over 9 years ago when i was just 12 and, with time, i learned more and more about the game and how it works. as of right now, i'd say i'm above average when it comes to actual skills. sadly my win rate doesn't reflect this, but i accepted it and now it doesn't bother me that much anymore. tl;dr while having good stats feels good, focus on having fun rather than just winning.

When the game treats me like crap, i switch to playing artillery. Because there, it doesn't matter nearly as much if i get bottom tier every game or if every shot ends up maximum offcenter from aimpoint.

Tiger II is an awesome tank. the gun is amaizing or a heavy tank, the armor is not top notch but you get a good amount of bounces and its not the slowest heavy in the world. both standard and gold ammo are very good with great velocity and you have a nice amount of HP with this one. also i feel like you can run multiple build with either hardening as a brawler or improving the gun handling and almost be something like a sniper. very flexible, very fun and although its a tech tree tank it can deal with a lot of premiums as well

my average winrate was 58% for a decade , for the last year its dropping, due to loosing streaks, i have days with 40% wins after 50 games. I still play good, i think the problem is not me... the problem is fast games when you dont have a chance to do impact.

@@ziginaigra i dont think its mm. I suspect its new equipment and tanks. The games are very fast. You have bond turbo and autoloaders, insane dpm, everybody shoots gold. So in seconds a tier 10 can be evaporised.

Thank you. With light tanks it is a bit more frustrating. I face every day far from ideal maps( aka Berlin, Mines etc.) even in 350 games I had prokhorovka literally 4 times, I am not joking. I am playing against higher tier 50% games. 70% games I do not have arta. And teammates are pushing, going in front getting slaughtered and blaming me. So I am trying to go in front risk all to counter elc and enemies simply do not care about me because once they are spotted almost no one shooting them anyways. But I will be fine. I am feeling bad anyways.

The Tiger 2 was my first 3rd MoE. Tried it bc Skill recommended it in one of his earlier videos. This tank is truly awesome if you love excellent gun handling and good dpm. Its turret can even deflect shells quite reliably if you know how to. But i had to stop playing it bc I would lose 4 or 5 times in a row before getting a win, and that was so annoying for me

Easiest way is to change the tank. You can do nothing with loosing streak. And harder you trying, worst will be effect. Sam as every day you see just few maps, same is with mm and rng. On 1 tank you can lose 10 in a row.. and on another win 15 in a row, without even trying.

On NA, you'll see tier 10's almost every time you try yo play a tier 8. Which for me got old 5 years ago. Now I only play my Tiger in Frontlines :(

It's a lot easier to deal with a losing streak when you don't need the XP. Not so easy when you're still grinding through the tank when its x5 xp for 1st win of the day but you can't get that win...

No is not true if you look at the match maker a quarter of the team are premium tanks and if you play a tier 8 tech tree tanks you get instantly lose But never fear my O-HO will bring justice to the match maker all you need to do is to shoot the OP premium tanks that have been pinned against the wall that way you will win easy :)

My longest losing streak is 37 games, I have smashed a desk and a keyboard a few years back. Oddly enough I do not have many winning streaks, longest being 9. My new account was at 52% after 1k games, now at 2k games and 47.9%, I honestly think if I botted I would do better lol. Most days of logging on I start with a loss ....and yes it does stress you out.

I can handed play poorly/well and yet my team end up loosing. I did had my lovely 18-19 lost in a roll, and it only end there because I stop playing...for years. But what I find annoying is those 15/0-3 matches, where one side just roll-over and die. I just had 4 in a roll yesterday. and 2 day before 6. and Its very regular thing. WOT is one those game "random" that has "balacing team" where a loosing streak over 5-6 is regular thing. But I have to say, if one plays Baccarat(the one James Bond played), sometime you see one sided long streak too, but it is rare.

Losing or wining isn´t the problem. I really don´t care either way. The frustrating part is when you have so many tourists, inept bots in your team that you won´t even be able to get anything out of the game, specially so when you aren´t even top tier. (same goes the other way around when you are racing with your teammates for the damage as the enemy tourists just feed your team for free.) What´s the point of a game when the top tier platoon players aren´t even able to find their own bum in the dark with a map and a flashlight? Those just press w and happily drive into a crossfire dealing 300 damage combined for the whole platoon. This isn´t a rare problem but a rather common one, the player base on average is so incompetent and bad that wg releasing bots would probably increase the average skill level by a lot, and that is such a low bar it´s already embarrassing. I mean the game is so bloody damn simple in it´s core. Move the cursor over an enemy, wait for the outline and aim for something till the indicator goes green then pull the trigger. All the while do not drive around like a headless chicken and use cover, bushes to avoid getting hit. And despite this incredible simple tasks you find thousands of people unable to perform even on the lowest of levels.

I have been using it to practice side scraping. You need to off-centre the turret to get maximum effect. I have been able to hold the heavy flank alone often as I have got better at it.

On AATT 60 you also got 280 mm penetration on golden ammo, but it's a med tank so don't say it's very good for a heavy..

WG offical bots are the cause of losing streak. Even a clan player can't win a game that your teammate died within 3minutes. So i choose to drive my LTs and rush to enemy base round and round and round. You can't win the game but you can earn credits.

The tanks were too advanced but the massive problems they had in the engine alongside the tremendous fuel consumption made them unreliable compared to sheer numbers of Shermans and T-34s. By the end of the war the soviets had also developed the IS-3. The Jagdtiger also appeared in the last days of the conflict and its performance was brutal, especially a trio of them which decimated entire American platoons of tanks.
