I wish I'd been allowed to see the finished boat under sail instead of those cards.

It's so absurd that we spend all this time watching the creation of this beautiful boat but then they block the view of the finished product. Unbelievable!

I was able to see the entire video, it seems that you guys need adblock plus, it gives you the ability to remove all those popup mini screens that cover the end of most videos. I've had it for so long I forgot all about those blockers.

This is great stuff to watch but the only thing that spoils it is at the end where the yacht is in the water and sailing you have the cards over the top and we cannot see a thing...

I use to keep a boat at a marina where the owner built wooden planked pwr.boats and motor sailers. Loved watching him at his craft. Truly an art.

There will always be a demand for hand built quality boats such as this,and it's easy to see why. Beautiful.

If they are not hand built how do you think they are built.

On a small model scale or larger scale like this , seeing the skeletons of any of this build is like a work of art ! Love it ! ❤️

Great work and great video. I prefer wooden boats not just because I am Dutch American Ist gen . I can only afford a Kayak and have felt most alive on the North Sea when I went to visit family. Wooden vessels are alive with sound .flexing and creaking more so with age like a wind blown instrument.. The old ones moan about rough Seas like old Sailors. 😁 keep up the great work

That fish song slaps, came for the boats, and then a second time when fish in the sea dropped.🎉

Awesome video! I am a home owner who remodeled my entire home over many years. I did tree harvesting, milled logs by hand, so I can relate but as a newbie sailboat owner I cannot imagine having the skills to “ remodel” let alone work as a carpenter to build a sailboat on this level! Epic!

This what we call "Woodcore" - very strong and light. Very durable when built correctly. And, very costly.

Absolutely magnificent! I wish I had the aptitude for working with wood. I LOVE objects made of wood: furnitures, boats, private homes, vintage interurban railroad cars, you name it. I envy the guys in this video building that boat for their craftsmanship. AWESOME!!! 😊

Get started and build something, even if it's from a kit. I have built 2 powerboats, 3 canoes and 2 kayaks it's extremely therapeutic!!! And if you screw up you get a nice campfire that evening!!!

I used to build custom high end motorhomes. Now I'm a marine tooler designing custom performance cats. Also high end. I must have been a boat builder in my past life! I would love to build boats like these where I can utilize all of my natural skills that my dad always told me would be useless.

Interesting. Bespoke timber from the Philippines, Indonesia, or the like, very modern and efficient. Optimised design and construction, a way to stay in business. Ex boatbuilder of the old school, who had none of that, so I appreciate every bit, and I recognize every procedure, even the sooped up ones. Except -- I've never seen skilled carpenters banging on a chisel with a hammer. 'Splain me Lucy.
@woodennecktie7 ай бұрын
there is a simple explanation , on this entire ship , less than one percent tops the wood is worked with chisels . so the sculpturist perhaps uses the old mass driver but in todays boatbuilding ........

yes available for the select few with the wallet accordingly - but in todays world quite a brave effort to go retro and get it right. then again if you cost in the hours to build - say 6.5k to 7.5k its understandable when you do a time and materials on the build. Works of art really

My dad and I rebuilt a sunken ( 6 feet) 29 foot 1962 Owens. We did the fiberglass layup that covered the lap straight hull. 2 years of weekends and spare time and we put to sea out of Alameda boat yard.. I learned a BUNCH on wood working.

Wood boats are beautiful so is the craft of making them. How much sail would that have under full sail. Reminds me of the clippers.

Think of the overhead ..... $3 or $4 mill for the equipment, a couple of $mill for the shed and property; $10K per week for wages; who knows what for consumables, electricity, computers, and everything else. A great job by the business owner and staff, and great outcome. Not much comes cheap these days.
@deaddoll1361 Жыл бұрын
The property and equipment are probably leased. Richard Hammond might just buy everything at the start for Little Cog, but most people start small and slowly grow over the years.

I enjoyed this video. As a side note, these videos don't need the musak background track. If you simply have to have music, a classical track might be less intrusive, but just to recap, you don't need any music for boat enthusiasts, we have attention spans tgat can deal with 10 minutes of silence.
