Sounds good! Put Rockford Fosgate speakers in my boat, great sound. Next is for the RV

I went with the polk audio db 6.5 speakers. They have a higher Rms rating and higher sensitivity then the Rockford fosgate. You could clearly see the frequency response for yourself. They sound like a 6.5 inch bookshelf speakers on steroids.

Hey. I love the video!! I have it saved to reference for when I get everything. The link you shared for the amp you used doesn't exist anymore on Amazon. Do you know the model number of the Rockford amp you used so I can search for it? I thought I had the amp saved in my Amazon cart but it isn't there anymore. Help. Please and Thanks in advance.

The tiny airspace behind the speakers will always massively limit bottom end. In some cases, adding a bit more air volume behind can do wonders(remove a bit of foam, or make small enclosures for the back if the holes back onto cupboards or similar)

Did you run a power line all the way back to the battery? 400 watts probably needs an 8ga wire depending on how far away the battery is.
@GLifeUTV4 жыл бұрын
used existing radio 10guage wire..
@CorbinDallas884 жыл бұрын
@@GLifeUTV Got it. My radio is supplied with a 14ga wire which is pretty thin. Would I need to run the power cable back to the battery or is there typically an electrical panel I can run to? I've wired up a dozen or so cars/trucks but not familiar with RV/trailers.
@GLifeUTV4 жыл бұрын
@@CorbinDallas88 well i myself thought about running another power source, but on my hauler it really does look like a pain in the ass.. i would probably be easier to go to the battery then to the 12v electrical panel. i would do it to the killswitc, so you can still shut it off if needed. not jus straight to the battery.
@CorbinDallas884 жыл бұрын
@@GLifeUTV Yeah it's going to be a pain in the ass lol. Unfortunately I don't really have a choice since my lines aren't large enough. I already installed a killswitch so I'm good there. Not too worried about running the power line to the battery, I'm more concerned about the grounding. The amp is about 10ft or so from the chassis, so I'm not really sure what to do there. Ground wires should be as short as possible (usually less than 2') but that's not an option for me. I may have to wire it up like a boat and just run the same size wire as the power all the way back to the battery. Or is it fine to have a longer ground wire and just run it to the chassis? main reason I'm posting this here is because I'm sure others will have the same questions.
@GLifeUTV4 жыл бұрын
@@CorbinDallas88 I don't see any reason why the ground cant be grounded to the chasis even 10ft away...as long as the guage of the cable is sufficient. and the chasis has a sufficient ground to the battery. which in most cases these haulers do. As long as you have good connections you shouldnt have an issue. Even in modern vehicles with so many computer modules. the chasis is used for grounding all the time.
