Skimboarding the Flooded Streets of Hawaii!

Making the best out of the rain and extreme flooding in Hawaii. The flooding in Oahu left streets and beach parks submerged with several feet of water. Once there was a break in the rain, I was determined to find some flooded areas good for skimboarding! It didn't take long. Water was pooling just about everywhere you looked. Streams that rarely flow were forming rapids over roads. Lava rock mountains that are normally dry from the heat of the sun, had raging waterfalls free falling 1000ft cliff faces

So unplanned but some times that is what creates the best moments. I literally just hopped in the car after the heaviest rains I have ever seen and hopped to find something to skim. ended up being way more fun than anticipated

I was just doing this in my home town Sacramento. We had this crazy hail/snow storm which I personally have never seen snow stick in sac but sure enough there was a solid inch or so of slush snow and I grabbed my skim board and was skimming my neighborhood streets, it was a legit dream come true lol.

I would love to see a video of you showing us how to properly care for and maintain a skimboard. Like how to wax it, “un-wax” it, store it, etc. Basically just show us how to keep a skimboard as nice and new as we can for as long as we can :) P.S. maybe also show off your quiver a little bit 😏

@@SkidKids if it ever rains heavily in SoCal when you head back this Spring, I highly recommend going to Pepperdine’s Malibu campus and skimming the steep grass hill in the front of their tower. Works with skimboard or boog, either way.

Hi form Maui ok let’s get this straight here in Maui Hawaii we got hit the most form the rain so all the people in Haikū Maui almost all the local lost all there home form the rain and one of the dams broke form the heave rain fall like my uncle house went bye bye for the dam in Haikū his live stock got swept away and most of the roads broke so yeah stay safe to all of my po’e ‘ōlelo Hawaii mai mai aloha
