@@RoweLit i liked Nik's story as well and he has now collaborated with Sonny Burton who i suggested in a project to redo the narration on the stories where Nik had resorted to AI narration. One is done and it was pretty good on both accounts. If You have any stories with all new characters please contact Nik for contact info. You are a great Narrator as well as writer but if voice issues or movies take your time or ability to do the narration. Sonny could be a help.

Thought provoking, but I believe it's an inevitable progression . Too many people lead too busy lives to form deep and meaningful relationships.
@pakde8002
@pakde8002 3 ай бұрын
Possibly the definition of deep and meaningful relationship needs to be expanded. Is someone, for example, who prefers the stillness of a forest to human interaction and receives emotional fulfilment less than someone who receives the same benefits from a human to human interaction? Does being a member of the human race carry an individual responsibility to adhere to a social contract that belongs to another time even though its original purpose has been lost through evolution?
@paulross225
@paulross225 3 ай бұрын
@pakde8002 If someone wants a deep and meaningful relationship with a tree - or two! That's perfectly fine with me. However, my o.p. was only in regard to human relationships versus relationships with artificial entities. Finding solace in solitude is for me, not relevant to the topic of how people will want to form relationships with others ,which, by the way, was the point of the story - or at least the main point! Ultimately, it boils down to this. There are basically two main types of relationships, those we form for reasons of procreation and those we form for pleasure and company but not necessarily with the intention of producing offspring. In the future, if humanity decides that producing children nature's way is too time-consuming ,which appears the direction of travel at the moment, we leave to the test tube to continue our species. This will leave us with more time for progression in our careers but possibly not in our relationships, hence the need for something a little 'artificial ' maybe? I really could/should expand on this a little more,but you see, I, too, have quite a busy life,so I really don't have the time to expound on this more than I have and as eruditely as I could. I'll leave that to much finer minds than my own - such as it is.

Thank you for another story in this amazing universe that you've created. Your worldbuilding skills are phenomenal and it has been fascinating watching you expand and flesh out what I've been referring to in my head as "The Roweverse" (which sounds much better in my head than it looks in print). You've created all of these factions, a coherent intermingled history, and a long history (albeit with some significant gaps in it). But as good as your macro skills are, the micro--the characters, the dialogue (which is enhanced by your voice acting) is even better. You write characters that are compelling and likable. My absolute favorite is Transom. As an irredeemable asshole myself, I have a special appreciation for a well written antihero). The conversation between Micon Prime and Transom might be my favorite bit of dialogue that I've ever read/heard. Thenk you again for all of your hard work. It is difficult for me to comprehend how you can generate the quality that you do and be so prolific. Do you ever sleep?

Thanks, Captain! My excuse for all of this is that it's my passion and I'm following it as best I can. Most nights I do sleep, yes. Not always on Wednesday nights depending on how far along the editing is. The caveat is that a lot of the time when I wake up, I have the answers to the story I'm working on, so I guess even when I'm sleeping I'm still tuned in to that frequency 😃 The Muse won't let me off the hook even at night! But I wouldn't prefer to be doing anything else.

Very thought provoking as always. Yes, I think it is better to be lonely than unhappy, but oh so much better to be happy. I guess the skin technology is something that Rishi’s new body uses and so isn’t as old as the Primes … maybe …

I now have a speculation as to who is the mastermind and villain of the Misfits' storyline. I do not want confirmation or refutation. I just want to express my speculation... just to be clear, upfront. When Micon Prime was messed with so that whats-his-name could get into the vault and become immortal, his ethical subroutines were damaged. Micon prime is not just "an agent of chaos" but is actively malevolent. These wars have been created and guided at a distance by him. That is the mystery the misfits are tracking down. Edit: type-Os

@RoweLit Well, I hope my speculation has no influence on Her. I'm really enjoying the slow unfolding. I'd hate to think I've placed a seed into Her subconscious that would interfere with the natural growth of what's already there. I guess only the Fates know. 😁 (Just like there"s no Sarcasm font, there's no Genuine font. The above should be in the second, not the first.... "latter" and "former" always confuse me. If the purpose of writing is to communicate, accidentally swapping "former" and "latter" would fail in that endeavor. )

The misery of human sadness and loneliness. At the same time the thought of how little can make a person feel fulfilled and happy. I have a question that is almost rattling me since you mentioned that TR&SP book. Could you expand on that topic in some future time. Because the ‘sudden’ divide(war) between the guild and the protectorate is really intriguing to me and perhaps to someone else who follows your works. And as usual thank you for the great story. I did really enjoy it.
