Hi Dr. Ania Marie! I appreciate your videos very much. I have a few questions that I am wondering if you can help me with. I have some great products I am using, but not sure if I am using them correctly. My doctor has been a little helpful, but when I ask the nurse for more clarification, she is very unhelpful. I use a clindamycin in the morning after washing with a mild cleanser. I then wait 5 minutes and use Revision Hydrating Serum (hyaluronic acid), then Skinbetter Alto defense serum, Alastin light moisturizer, and lastly Alastin tinted sunscreen. In the evening I remove sunscreen with Albolene and wash face with Revision Papaya salicylic enzyme cleaner. The I use metrocream and wait 5 minutes. Then I use the hyraluronic acid again from Revision, Alastin Restorative Skin Complex, and lastly Alastin’s light moisturizer. Am I layering products correctly? Am I doing anything wrong or should I change anything? I do use an eye cream, too. I forgot to mention that. It goes on after the hyaluronic acid. Please help! Thank you so much!

New subscriber. I use tretinoin.1% every night on my face and neck with no irritation. Where do I add the vitamin c and my growth factor. I am 58 with normal skin. Thank you. ❤
@theocbeautymd Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the brand and formulation. Plus keep in mind Vit C and tretinoin like different pH levels. If you use an ascorbic acid, apply in am and leave tret for pm. If it's an ester, apply tret, growth factors and vitamin C last.

Thank you so much! Great question! I do love masks but don't have too much time for them. I love the Lactic acid one by dermalogica called gentle cream exfoliant and I like all of the Zo masks.

I have two questions one I’ve always heard growth factors go on first am I wrong with that? My second question what would be an occlusive? That’s not your normal moisturizer that has ceramides in it?
@theocbeautymd Жыл бұрын
In general, yes growth factors would go on first. Depends on the formulation! If you did PRP, like a vampire facial with microneedling, (your body's own growth factors) that would go on first). An occlusive would be vaseline or aquaphor or the Alastin Soothe and protect

What category would ZO firming serum be in?
@theocbeautymd2 жыл бұрын
the watery serum category. So one of the early ones to apply
@valdodd78522 жыл бұрын
So morning skincare would be to apply vitamin c and then acids such as salicylic acid? I thought it would be the salicylic acid and then vitamin c? Followed by sunscreen. Help!
@theocbeautymd2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand your question. I think of vitamin C as an acid - ascorbic acid. To keep it simple, I would say, watery products like serums first. With salicylic it depends, is it in your cleanser, your toner or serum.

Do you have a product you recommend that has several acids in it that could treat hyperpigmentation?
@theocbeautymd2 жыл бұрын
I'm a fan of Dr. Sam Bunting and she has Dr. Sam's Flawless brightly serum which is 10% azelaic acid, 1% bakuchiol and 2% ascorbic glucoside (vitamin C) plus niacinamide. Skinceuticals discoloration defense combines 3% tranexamic acid, 1% kojic acid 5% niacinamide and another acid called hydroxyethylpiperazine ethane sulfonic acid at 5%. Lastly Zo skin health Brightalive contains trnexamic acid glycolic/lactic acid and ascorbic acid.
