It changed your approach because the mpc x was never supposed be used for beat making and was in fact an upgrade to the dps 24

One thing to note about the MPC 5000 is that the sequence drifts I tested and tested and tested for months and found out that it does not hold MTC midi time code. It will start off fine but at the end of the song it would go out of sync with internal instruments in the Daw and no it was not compensation related.

That never happened to me MTC smpte midi all worked for without any problems.

@@SampleKingsVideos wow sample kings love your videos, where I found there to be an issue was when I was using it as a hybrid system I was using the MPC to sequence and using it for the drums and then using the DAW’s vst’s’s. If you only use the MPC 5000 and track it out you will not notice it . The drift happened from internal vst’s’s from the DAW syncing with the sounds from the MPC 5000 and its internal sequencer. I tested both operating systems I think it was the 1.2 and then the 2.0

Now Doc this is my fav. Mpc i still own one very slept on.Prob the easiest one to use since the 2000 and xl.Make your beat loop a audio track right into the sequence right on the fly if you want.Hit the button move upstairs to the 8 audio tracks record mix it down wave it or burn a cd that simple.It didn't have real time audio warping but time stretching and patch phrasing helped with that lost.The 2.0 update made it real solid.

I enjoyed mine while I had it but paid $300 for it in 2014 and sold it 4yrs later for a hefty profit. I bought an MPC1000, a Moog and a good turntable with the proceeds and never looked back.... Til today. Damn, I saw someone selling one local for $675... Making me itch, I might need to scratch!

Most underestimated MPC (With the 2.0 update) that blows the doors of most legacy models. A lot of people passed on this while they could have picked it up cheap. They were paying 3x as much for an used 2000XL which doesn't come close other than sentimental values. Oh, and yes .... I own it ! Especially 1000/2500 owners will feel right at home. The 2.0 software studied the JJOS very carefully.

Although the MPC 4000 could be an all-around unit you had to invest extra money to make it that way. And the real reason that the MPC 5000 is great is because of the OS and the audio.

I knew it was one of those later MPCs Just Blaze had complained about. I kept thinking it was the 4000 but this video reminded me that it was the 5000. I can remember back when JB trashed that particular model.

The 4000 was Just Blaze favorite Mpc. The 5000 was my baby tho 😂, it was a lot better when they did the update later after it launched. Really dope Mpc in my opinion and it’s under rated but not as good as the 4000

After I got spoil with a Mv8800, I had a hard time using the 5000, I ended up selling it, I don’t regret it.

MPC 5000 was my baby. I loved mine. It’s kinda underrated in my opinion and it was the precursor to the modern MPC’s …well one of the precursor’s..if I’m being honest an Mpc 2500 with JJOS is the other

Never had a problem with the synth.much prefer it to the new plugin models on the current machines.problem was you cant record the changes/edits……huge oversite.

The power supplies were very faulty on that model That would overheat and fail which is every well known issue. I can see why InMusic didn't sell very many of them that was a flop. Both software bugs at launch and now hardware failure. InMusic failed to do anything about it. It shares the same faulty power supply units in the Alesis Fusion HD.

The 5000 is the best mpc up until this day. The digital outputs really do it for me. And its not heavy and slim like other mpc's.

@Cdkallday No...the MPC 5000 is not the best MPC. During development of the MPC Ren, Live, X, etc we had an inside joke. We were never allowed to mention the MPC 5000 by name. We considered it the worst MPC ever released (as far as the firmware). The MPC Ren / MPC Software 1.0 was based on the MPC 5000 with many features removed.

@@JeronimoFury yet when used, since say 2013 until now, and having had 5 other models of mpc's or more, the 5000 hands down killing things. Glitches and all accepted and loved because their coming from the machine being able to outthink itself.

They were gonna call it 3500 because the mpc 4000 was still more powerfull. So they said the nr should be lower. But it ws too late production was already started.
