Fascinating how so much can be explained visually without much need for dialogue. Any BLADERUNNER fan around the globe can view this film without a language barrier as the imagery communicates the entire story and character development. A fantastic achievement. I will have to experiment with this kind of expositional filmmaking myself.

I love how it adds the replicant's intro from David People's draft, on how they arrive of Earth and emerge from waste disposal. Many scenes like these were originally going to be in the film, but were scrapped due to budget.

Remember Leon when he confronted Deckard: "when was I born"? I think Roy had access to the complete information once he visited Tyrell.

Very interesting short! The only problem is this promotes Ridley’s false narrative that bladerunners were replicants also, which directly contradicts the text. You might as well throw DADOES away. Ridley let his visual genius commingle with his literary ineptitude. It’s not Dick’s work any longer, to change Deckard from human to replicant. This destroys the entirety of Dick’s premise, that the death of a none human(Batty) can make a profound change in a human’s perspective(Deckard). To the contrary, if Deckard is also a replicant(as Ridley suggests) Batty’s death is meaningless to Deckard. He’s just a machine himself! In my opinion(as well as Ford’s I surmise) Ridley is a visual genius, but a theological amateur, at least in this instance.
