Give credit where credit is due to the other guys too. Skinner saved them tonight as well. Florida's pressure was INSANE for a while there and Skinner stood on his head making a FEW clutch saves. That kid is showing up for his hometown team. At the start of this series the narrative was that Edmonton had zero chance due to Skinners inexperience while Bob was on the other side of the ice having himself an amazing postseason. Well the games the Oilers HAVE lost had absolutely nothing to do with his performances, even in the losses he played well enough. His team let him down games 1-3. And now Skinner is a HUGE reason for these 2 wins as well. He completely flipped the narrative everyone had going into this series. I love to see it. Obviously McDavid is a puck 🏒 wizard 🪄 but Skinner deserves his flowers too.

I 100% believe that the offseason before this season connor focused solely on his defensive play, he has the offensive play mastered, he doesn't need to work on it, this year hes been such a good defensive forward, hes turning into an excellent 2-way forward and its a treat to see.
@Jordan_6534 ай бұрын
@@rinzzler366 I think he's always had the tools and he just changed up his style of play. Instead of floating around the outside waiting for a breakaway pass he gets right in there and takes the puck himself sinse his team was shitting the bed in that aspect

Seems like Paul and Matthew are unwilling to change to do what it takes (e.g. "nothing changes" and Tkachuk feeling "no pressure"), and this is what I believe differentiates them from the Oilers. Dude... of COURSE they feel the pressure. You can SEE IT with how they have been playing. They aren't going to tell the press that they feel it. They need to go out there and act like these 2 losses haven't shaken them, they need to act like nothing changes because they aren't going to tell the press the tiny little details that they are OBVIOUSLY going to discuss in team meetings. Florida's pressure was insane for a good durating of this game, Skinner came up with some super clutch saves. A bounce or 2 goes their way the narrative is completely different right now. They haven't been playing "awful". They just need to calm tf down and get out of their own heads. This is coming from someone that has no dog in this fight. I want a 7 game series from this, especially if it means we get more games like we had last night. But these are just things that they NEED to say. Mcdavid said he and his team felt no pressure after going down 3-0... he said he just plays 1 game at a time. Does that mean Mcdavid REALLY felt zero pressure? Absolutely not! Paul and Tkachuk said the right things. They said what they had to say. You don't ever give away your strategy to the press and you never let your opponent know that you are in your own head putting pressure on yourself either. You let them know you are relaxed and level, that you are still going to play your game. 1 game at a time.
@jeffmacdonald5014 ай бұрын
