On the Skinny Minnow fly:
When one has been working around larger flies using various streamer hairs, it is a no-frills operation to end a tying session with a few Skinny Minnows, easily crafted from any excess materials lying around on the table. The logics behind this fly design, the overall most important and only thing, is not to overdue it: Less is better material-wise, hence the name.
A Skinny Minnow in the box, or several, might save the day when fish are finicky. In clear or low water conditions, from salt to fresh, on different shorter shank hook models, the Skinny Minnow is employed; here tied in a standard minnow shape with Steve Farrar's Flash Blend Fibers in White and Bloody Grey for the fish body and using a Bloody Red for the gills.
