I don't mind some cliche's, especially from the games older champions. Having the generic knight is pretty much a must have in fantasy and, despite how boring he is, he does fill a specific niche within the world. Teemo is a dickwad but again, he was crucial to forming our idea of what a Yordle actually is. By comparison Kayn doesn't really fill a space, he felt like a character that they slapped onto the scythe itself. They wanted to make more Darkin to fill out that part of the universe, and Rhaast is badass, the problem is that Kayn ended up being dull as bricks. Zoe is also someone who doesn't really add much. The only interest I personally have had in her lore is asking how they justify her existence. Stars and cosmic power have already been done with the Targon event, Aurelion Sol and Bard. Zoe seems superfluous and doesn't really add anything.
