It is nice to have Rhaast and Kayn having conversation even after transformation, in the main story, both of them tries to supress each other, and even in Odyssey skin Rhaast's purpose is to use him to revive, but here they're actual friends! No one side being dead! YAY!!!

They're not friends, they're the exact same person but showing a bit of a different facet, and I'm really sad about it -.- Rhaast does not have his own personality or thoughts or anything in this skin, it's literally just Kayn speaking to his own "bad impulses" and the image he crafted for himself because the music scene in the universe has made him an outcast and a social pariah.

What's interesting to me is, that while Rhaast seems to be pretty self-assured/ confident at his respawn that he'll just come back anyways, Shadow Assassin Kayn tells a different story, he missed his cue, doesn't want to show that he broke a sweat and stuff like that, even the transformation where he "is a professional" and "trained his whole life" shows that he has to keep telling himself those things, it feels like he believes he has to fake it till he makes it, Rhaast probably really took a massive toll on his self-esteem.

Rhaast isn't just an intrusive thought, he's a different personality, Kayn has Multiple Personality Disorder, or Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) as it's called now. The two personalities know of eachother and actually speak to eachother (which is rather rare, not everyone with DID is able to hear and talk with the other personality (or personalities)). They quite literally take turns controlling the body (seen in the music video and in game), so he's not just a thought.
