Pretty serendipitous moment. Carl informs the crew about the Bigelow sighting experience in that room, studio just happens to have thermal camera set up for that corner and there is a dark shadow man, totally cold, in the corner. Independent corroboration of Bigelow's experience.

Asbestos isn't really all that radioactive though, it's basically as inert as most other inert rocks. This is likely just radon gas at very low levels and the fact that the geiger counter he is using is very inexpensive and slow compared to even a basic dosimeter. 50 CPM is a very low rate of detection. Even at over 100 CPM rate over more than 400 days isn't going to raise your cancer odds by 1 in 1000. By the same measure to increase your cancer odds by the same amount it would take an exposure time of 4 days at 10,000 CPM. It is also very possible that the soil in the area has trace amounts of decaying elements like uranium that have mostly decayed away but still emit a very small amount of radiation.

I would see if there’s a basement or a crawlspace, beneath the living room, and check there. Radon gas is known to escape naturally from soils and can collect in low-lying spaces. (Don’t know if it would trip the geiger counter.)
