My daughter got a virus ib 7th grade and Covid last year. It set off pots and she hasn't been to school in 5 years. She had a procedure and I told the anesthesiologist that she needed steroids wuth her anesthesia. She did not do it. My daughter ended up in ER 15 times and hospitalized 4. She almost had to get a feeding tube. She just kept screaming "the confusion!" Broke my heart. She's on Allegra and Pepcid and going to start Xolair. We've been homebound 14 minths since procedure. Yes and yes
@Ruktiet
@Ruktiet 5 ай бұрын
@@nford3886 Thanks for replying. Could you share by any chance what has worked the most for you? Also, have you had problems with severe anxiety throughout your life? Some info from my end: know that “MCAS” is a presentation with an imbalanced T-helper 2 (“Th2) cell response compared to Th1, and that fairly recently T regulatory cells have been discovered, which produce cytokines which act like a negative feedback to the inflammatory Th1 and Th2 response, and these Treg cells get upregulated by proper vitamin D availability. Studies on hunter-gatherers show consistently that they have about 45ng/ml of 25-hydroxy vitamin D in their blood, and these people don’t seem to have allergies or immune dysfunction. This high serum vitamin D level by being outside might be a key to this, alongside many different other factors, but vitamin D is notoriously low in Western populations. Thus, sunbathing or supplementation of vitamin D3 (+K2 MK-4) and magnesium for activation of D3 might drastically help with stabilizing these overzealous mast cells. Fat soluble vitamins are synergistic so you might want to look into vitamin A as well, given that this is also a very immune-related vitamin and some people (those with BCMO1 gene polymorphisms) might need specific animal sources such as liver or cod liver oil to get enough of it, because they have difficulty getting it from plant pigment (beta-carotene). Another thing to know is that chronic stress due to anxiety disorders, trauma, unhealthy social or work situations, etc. cause chronic corticotropin releasing hormone secretion, which drastically activate mast cells. It is therefore no surprize that people with chronic (idiopathic) urticaria often see this condition appear after periods of chronic psychological stress, and see them disappear when their psychological state is normalized. Also, this is a positive feedback loop, as MCAS can cause anxiety via many different direct and indirect ways. Vicious cycle. Good luck. Hope it’s helpful.

I found this fascinating! My husband and daughter just had a ton of testing and go for their follow up with a MCAS specialist next month. But the methylation issue rings very true for my husband. Methyl folate causes him to spiral into depression very fast and hard. It’s SCARY! Definitely a toxic reaction in the brain. I will try thiamine to see if we can unplug that pathway. But her hair falling out, extreme anxiety that can shit her down completely, chronic fatigue, complete shutdown of sexual function, depression, and more. All 4 months after her school forced her to get the mcshot. Developed a nodule on thyroid. Hormones outs whack then normalish again. The Drs were zero help. The only thing that seemed to make a small bit of difference, was one of her Drs put her on ivermectin and LDN (low dose naltrexone) Nothing major, but it calmed her a little and the swings aren't as scary as they were. Please anyone who can help please do so!

Glad you found something that works for you! Quercetin makes me itch like crazy. Ironically I found out it has asorbic acid among other histamine related ingredients 😅 FMF Functional Doctor formulation... Mistakes were made 😂 I've had some success with Immunoglobulins, probiotics (bifido blend only!), Berberine and digestive enzymes with HCl. It doesn't clear everything, but at least now I don't sit in hives and chronically itch. I drink stinging nettle tea with meals, and use dead sea salt footbaths which supports the constant magnesium loss. I too cut alcohol over 8 years ago and coffee a few years back. Low hist diet. Also low oxalate as that has been a big trigger for me.

@@sailuvijl6621 there is no definitive test, some providers will “test” by seeing how your symptoms respond to an antihistamine. From there your provider will likely start to help you determine your triggers and treat underlying conditions (viral load, infections that are latent, gut issues, mold, nutrient deficiencies, etc.) that have caused overload in your system and need resolving to calm your mast cell response.

I drink Stinging Nettle Tea 3-4 times a day as a form of antihistamine. 4-5 during heavy flares. Literature is a bit mixed, but most people report a pretty good response. Personally, I respond as good as otc antihistamines, if not better from it. It also helps reduce oxalate absorption from the foods we eat, which some of us with MCAS struggle with. I drink it with my meals.

I second that on the nettle tea, currently sipping on a brew that I infuse in the fridge for two days. I also use a lot of herbs 14g per quart of water. As a pinch of salt and almost like a mini meal 😄 it’s pretty amazing for my allergies. If I forget, I know about it

*How much B5, B6, C, and magnesium do you recommend in daily supplements, please?* I took a Thorne gut test that revealed I'm low in the bacteria that produce B vitamins which is likely the cause of my histamine issues from what I understand you're saying. Thank you!

Famotidine (h2 blocker) caused me to have a huge mast cell response, anybody else have this problem? D3 and k2 helped almost immediately. My functional medicine doctor gave me antronex so maybe that'll do something. Regular antihistamines do jack diddly. My MCAS is from sick building syndrome. I had no idea that's what bioflavonoids did. That's neat!

Dr I just had a steam cell infusion treatment and I didn’t suffer any side effects but hours later my blood sugar dropped I was really scared because iit was so suddenly I am didn’t what was happening to me I just remembered something and I had my dinner and suddenly I felt well but right now I am in chronic dehydration and because this dehydration doesn’t show in an blood test but I am feeling I found yesterday that I can get an IV for hydration I don’t know how man I will to balance my whole body, what I am not sure if I have 2 different health problems one is the long COVID symptoms and the the other is related to the adrenal and the up and down of cortisol all those symptoms have been increasing because my body is not absorbing water I think this why all the symptoms has become more intense and for the moment it will iv for hydration and urgently because I need at this age feel more more cal and relax if my symptoms are content and not having my mind getting crazy and looking everywhere for any things that can help because at least is my idea that dying for not having water inside your body is stupid and dangerous at the same time and alone the people who’s helping me doesn’t know a thing but are worried about my well-being. If can give and idea how to approach this situation I will appreciate very much thank you

When I eat the wrong things, I get severe epigastric pain along with vomiting and diarrhea which is quite severe. The epigastric attacks are so so so painful. I developed this issue 8 years ago after a good poisoning episode. I'm also on immunosuppresants due to an organ transplantation which was 9 years ago. Recently even my safe food is causing such episodes. I cannot eat any kinds of fruits, salads, bread, crumpets, cereal. I struggle during breakfast as I cannot eat much. However all the unhealthy food I can eat. I'm becoming diabetic and struggling with low sugar levels and not having healthy food to snack on. A lovely consultant diagnosed me with Mcas through a sample of my biopsy. I only just started probiotics. I feel the anti histamine causes me more problems or more sensitivities. Unfortunately this isn't recognised in the UK and I happened to come across this consultatant who was from another country who decided to do research into this area. Any help? Today I are yoghurt and granola and now I've been in pain for hours. I get the epigastric pain severely and migraines. Thank you

Very sorry for your suffering. I too can no longer eat raw veggies and very little fruit. .mostly just blueberries. I have eaten healthy mostly vegetarian most of adult life with large salad of greens every day, legumes, etc. Problem got bad in 2013 with undigested veggies in bowel movements then had breath test diagnosed with SIBO. Then 2015 diagnosed with MCAS. I have had pollen allergies and other allergies since childhood. Now much worse since must stick to cooked veggies and gluten free or bodywide itching and GI issues, diarrhea unbearable. I just saw another video that mentioned exipients in meds can also cause reactions. Ugh that sure would be a nightmare to figure out because I am on so many rx meds for many chronic health problems. At least I found a nurse practitioner who is great and recommended I try LDN. She referred me to a website where drs evaluate you and if it is appropriate they RX the LDN. She said she will then take over prescribing the LDN if it is helpful.

I have Secondary Mast Cell Activation Syndrome with key triggers of six types of sulphites (sulphites Canadian ... sulfites American). Included in this list is Sulphur Dioxide gas (S02) which is emitted by diesel fuel burning trucks on the road. If driving a single lane road behind a diesel burning truck then I just pull over and wait. I worked in the marine industry with tones upon tones of diesel fuel was burnt and inhaled every day of my career. Did you know that the commercial dehydration process sprays sulphur dioxide gas over all the products to prevent mold.

@@laracwass9543 Hi Lara, sorry to hear about your ailment. I'm now 66 y.o. and have had this since my 40's ... well before anyone knew what it was. In my case, I have mcas, am histamine intolerant, have a sulphites trigger and have several other immune system ailments such as IBS, intestinal ulcers, kidney disease, etc. I have researched my condition extensively for many years. I'm Canadian and Health Canada lists Sulphites as a top 10 food allergen. I take the allergen all the way to anaphylaxis. I break out in full body psoriasis during an attack and even develop narcolepsy and sleep up to 4 days without waking. Today, my diet is sulphite free (and that is complicated) and histamine limited. I take prednisone long term but just at a dosage that suppresses my immune system and no more. I take mondafinil to suppress the narcolepsy and this allows me to stay awake during the day. I take candesartan for hypertension. I take cyclobenzaprine as a muscle relaxant. And I take quetiapine for a few days whenever my meds are changed as I typically have psychotic episodes. I meet with my medical team every 2-weeks virtually and have for roughly 1.5 years. I have recently been reassigned to a new to me clinic while I await referrals to 4 specialists. Lara, I hope my story helps you with your journey. At least you now know there is someone else.

I have endometriosis. So the endometriotic lesions produce their own estrogen. Needless to say, I have severe estrogen dominance along with progesterone resistance. With time, the estrogen dominance will just get worse. I hear mast cells also trigger more estrogen production. Simply put, how am I supposed to eliminate all this excess estrogen? I feel like this is impossible without surgically removing the endometriosis lesions from my body. And surgery exacerbates my MCAS big time. In fact, MCAS is probably why I have endometriosis in the first place

@ibinezgirl4623 I realize it’s been nine months since this comment on Dr. Anderson’s video. I too have estrogen dominance, but not endometriosis. I’m always seeking alternative ways to treat my body rather than pharmaceuticals or surgery. My suggestion is to research diindolymethane. It comes from cruciferous vegetables to help regulate estrogen. It may not be the exact answer, but it may lead you to something similar to will work.
