100% practice is the key mate. And what a good excuse to go fishing ;) I dunno mate... sometimes I just enjoy the casting side of it all and fish are just the bonus.... then there’s those frustrating days chasing Jack and copping donuts when I’m just desperate for one. Hahha

Hi John, Yeah only little ones but got smashed twice, yep a lot more practice with the skip cast but nailed it 20% of the time maybe ? Just gunna go to the canals or river and practice it throwing at a marker or buoy to get the speed, type of plastic, distance, and rod load up sorted. Thanks .

I have been able to transform my casting technique and adapt the bass fishing concept to my UK Pike fishing with great success, Thanks for the information. Mate I’d look at a 5/0 or 6/0 for the bigger Pike. Probably 5/0. I can only imagine the craziness of chasing Pike under overhanging cover with em. Awesome stuff.

Might be a dumb question, but how can you skip a lure with a baitcaster? Won't it just overspool everytime? Unless I guess you have heavy mag/centrifugal brakes set?

I find a baitcaster turns into a bird's nest just sitting in the bag on the way to the boat. Horrible things.
