i love how this game is a co-op hack and slash but actually the endgame playstyle is to play alone and skip all combat haha

Doesn’t have anything to do with increasing drops. It raises the enemy level after having it done. So if you don’t do it, you “should” have a better chance of getting lvl 30 items and not 31.
