I always do a few mock games myself when learning any game (as long as they aren't spoilery) and play through the game at the same time I'm reading the rules, playing multiple players if required. Having a video like this as reference also helps!

You are very welcome. Pandemic Legacy is a great take on the pandemic forumla since it allows you to have a real buy-in to each game you play. Don't worry if you fail a month or two, i think we lost January AND February at least once before we started to get to grips with things :)

We played about a dozen games of regular pandemic between day before yesterday and yesterday, just to get the hang of it. I think it took about 7-8 games before we won one, playing by all the proper rules. Started Legacy today - won Jan, lost first Feb, and just won second Feb. So much fun. Brilliant really.

Does the board wrap around? If there is an outbreak at the edge of the board does it continue to the other city at the other side of the board? Also when the medic can remove the disease once it is cured I presume that is still only in the 4 action movements? ie. if there are 4 cities he moves into it is 8 actions but is only 4 as he removes them for free?!

The board does wrap around yes. The outbreaks follow the lines that connect the cities, so if this happens at the edge of the board, follow the line to the coresponding city on the other edge. With regards to the medic, it does not take an action to remove the cubes of a cured disease. This means that if you move through 4 cities which contains cubes of a cured disease, you would remove the cubes from each of them for free and thus only use a total of 4 acitons. I hope this has helped!

Thanks for this video :). Quick question - for the One Quiet Night card, the direction is to "skip the next infect cities step". Since you can play this card at any time, does this apply to the next player to take a turn, or does it only apply to yourself once it becomes your turn again?

Glad to be of help dude! One Quiet Night can apply to any player's turn, you simply ignore the infect step that comes after it. This means that if you play it during your own turn, you ignore your own infect step, if you play it during another player's turn, you ignore theirs. It is important to note that if you play this card DURING and infect step, it does not apply till the next turn (it must be played before the infect step that you are trying to avoid. You can't view the cards first then choose to use it).

Apologies that this reply will likley miss your first playthrough, hope it went well! Advice for first time players is think carefully about the synergy between the character abilities as you can get some really good control if you do.

In the instruction book it says (last page medic section) "the medics automatic removal of cubes can occur on their player's turns, if he is moved by the dispatcher of the airlift event"... I read this page many times and I don't get what is saying

squishy duck once a disease is cured, the medic removes cubes of that type simply by moving to a city that contains them (they no longer need to use an action to do so). The line you just quoted from the rulebook simply indicates that this is also true if they are moved to a city by the dispatcher.

The Pandemic fan in me weeps at 15:42 The Dispatcher just took a charter flight to a city containing another player... The Dispatcher can move one player to another as 1 action, no card required. I know it's because you hadn't mentioned character powers yet, but it makes me twitch.

Ashley Kohl I would definitely recommend that you start with the standard pandemic board game as it is superbly rounded and the mechanics are tried and tested. One of the biggest releases of recent years was pandemic legacy (and recently legacy season 2), but although these add a different feel to the game, I always preferred the original. The legacy mechanics make the game change with each play through by removing characters and adding mechanics. This means to get the most out of it you have to guarantee the same gaming group for each session and you end up trading replay value for narrative. Don't get me wrong, I think most gamers own both at some point (including us), but I always go back to the base game. Make sure to pick up 2ND edition if you go for standard Pandemic though (it's the one we demoed in this video). Hope you enjoy! 😃

Ever consider doing a tutorial for games like Trajan, Clockwork Wars, Cry Havoc, Labyrinth: WoT? I know those are kinda complex but they're also the ones that need easy explanations the most.

Jacob Seibers absolutely. I agree that the most complex games are often the ones that most need (and are often lacking) decent tutorial videos. I found that myself recently when being introduced to Arkham horror. In an ideal world we would have videos for each of these but time can sometimes be against us. We do appreciate people pitching ideas so we will definitely look into these for you.

Great tutorial- helped this visual learner tremendously. Except when you were holding 5 epidemic cards and saying there was 6 and then saying you were starting with 4 and holding 3. My Pandemic Legacy game only has 5 epidemic cards inside it, so this was/is particularly confusing for me. Still, thanks!

Absolutely. It works really well as a solitaire game. I have even seen tournaments built around that basis where each player is given the exact same deck setup. They then compete to see if/when they defeat the game.
