Skmei 9288 with blue dial. Any good?

Huge potential. Amazing dial. But Skmei logo on the dial lacks a bit of resolution and is made in a funny font. Case is just chrome plated alloy. Bracelet sharp without any micro adjustments. Big gap between bracelet and the case. Noticeable color difference between case and the bracelet.

I can understand the frustration over the fake screwdown case back but I find the Skmei brand to be quite good all things considered. Particularly the watches they make modeled afted the Casio vintage line. This watch seems to be no exception. Clearly there had to be some cost cutting corners but over all it's a nice looking watch. This was a great review and you brought some great points to the forefront such as how there is a slight difference between the bracelet and the case. NIcely done.

Great review. You looked at and spoke about the things that matter. You didn't waffle on about obvious stuff that we could easily see in the specifications. I have a lot of budget watches, many that have not been designed quite right or even made correctly. I keep most of them as there often isn't anything else quite like it. I don't have a hammer but I do have a rubbish bin.. Keep up the great reviews.

I have the blue, black/rose gold and pink rose/gold versions. Nice beater but very low water resistance. Be careful not to wash your hand with high water pressure.

Tomas I just went through the same fake screw down caseback on an old Invicta! I literally tried everything to unscrew the back and scratched the crap out of it. Then I dropped it and the back popped off! Arrrgh! It almost got the hammer! Thank you for the good laugh watching you have the same experience.

Ive run into some fake screw down case backs, common on budget watches - but note this one has a J.Epson Seiko movement, darn good time keeping for a cheap watch - the tip off on the case back is the notches are way too shallow for a proper watch tool to get a grip on and they refused to turn with a tool, you have to consider the very low cost on watches like this, its a cost cutting measure - again, youre getting a J. Epson / Seiko quartz movement. Im happy if it looks good wears comfortable and keeps good time, thats all I can expect in very low price watches. A pop off case back is common in the sub $20 category, while its not perfect its a very nice looking watch for the money. Id buy one but it looks like the band cannot be swapped and would never fit my 8.5" wrist, so I usually end up with some kind of NATO or extra long leather band - neither of which will work on this proprietary band attachment lug setup and neither will the band adjust large enough so its a no go for me, but for others might be a nice budget dress watch.

Interesting. I have a few Skmei digital watches that I am happy with. This looks ok for the money. I like the case shape. Skmei even do an automatic watch now. You could probably remove that Skmei logo with some goo-gone. I'm waiting for a Berny AM139M to be delivered it's a bit more expensive than the Skmei but still relatively cheap. Berny do some good quality cheap watches.

skmei never make screw caseback, but they any make case stainless in Qxxx series (ex: Q023, Q025, etc) it really 316 stainless case.. the price is cheap..its ceazy

I've gotten this watch from a giveaway so thankfully i didn't pay for it. It is indeed a very beautifull watch but it has some deal breakers for me. Firstly the bracelet is sooo uncomfortable. I managed to find a good fit but still it is far from pleasant to wear. Secondly the curved glass is beautifull at first but it makes the watch unreadable from some angles, so much that it gets on my nerves. These two reasons are enough for me to never wear it. It still gets a spot in my watch box because i convinced myself that i need a watch for my gardening - bbq and similar work and since it was free and it looks really good i will use this until it breaks. Such a shame for such a beautifull watch.

Now its polished, ...I put the crown back in, but now when I pull it out to set the time, It does not have anymore those two DISTINCT click click position 1 and 2. Its more fluid. Did I do something wrong? Can I fix it.

I am just a Health Nut. I know if something constricts the flow, bad things can happen, so in my mind, it either has to be the smoothest Butterfly clasp in the world. Or none at all for me.
