I wish an EV was an option for me but i live in an apartment in Sydney's east without a charger in the basement parking and we're not allowed to use the regular plugs down there for EVs. I don't know how i would be able to recharge at a public charger near me if it took so long (most around here are the slower ones, not the rapid chargers and even with those i think it takes half an hour or so). It's just a shame we dont have the infrastructure here for charging. Maybe there is a technical or engineering reason why we can't, but i see no reason why a company couldnt open a parking lot type facility that all had really fast chargers and then once a week you went there and sat for half an hour while you recharged. Eh..

I guess you don't have a slow charger at walking distance of your home. Then you could charge at night. It takes around 8 hours, so perfect for a night charge. Hope things will improve soon.

@@David_Polak Nah not within easy walking distance, and even then they tend to be occupied most of the time i drive past so you'd be competing with others to try and get in.

Looks great actually so the choice is now EV5, Tavascan or Enyaq and it looks like i'll have to wait until December to compare them all.

Why we won't consider petrol car as this price? This price won't make this model hot in the market. This is why VW cannot do well in Au market.....

Agreed, it is not a compelling price with plenty of competition in a lower price bracket. Not sure what the price premium is for, as Skoda is the budget VW brand.

I owned a skoda. Terrible build quality and unfixable engine problems. Resale value is abysmal.
