I have the 95 hp version, 160 nm of torque and I think this is already the bare minimum required for driving without constant stress.. I don't want to imagine driving the 60hp version

It's already a minor miracle for a 3 cyl 1.0L engine w/o turbo to be able to pull this car at all!

I've got Mk4 Fabia with this engine as a replacement car. I'm highly surprised with its fuel economy - i was able to consume 4-4.5 l/100km, when driving to work (10 km in a city and 13 km open-road). How? A LOT OF engine braking and speed limiter. But this motor is not meant for fast driving at all...

I suspect this is even slower than the old seat 1.9 SDI i had. And that seat was much more economical than this.

Yeah, i think so. Because 1.9 sdi has at least some newton meters and it is 4 cylinder

my old corsa b with 54hp got 175 km/h with around 9-10 l /100km (164 GPS)

Just wondering, how many people purchase this 60 PS variant compared to the more powerful ones? I find that 60 PS may be too dangerously slow when merging on the freeway. Surely the more powerful ones are more expensive but, then again, fuel use at high speeds for the 60 PS may be worse (imagine how much strain the engine is under trying to maintain 120 to 130 km/h). Insurance rates, perhaps?
@themorronshacks3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with you. Entry price is just very affordable and people driving with no more than 110 are buying it :)
@w.tuckwong90793 жыл бұрын
@@themorronshacks I see. Still, I find that even in the city, 60 PS is a too low to avoid some sketchy situations which involve accelerating away as soon as you can. By the way, any chance you could review a Kia Stonic 120 PS 7DCT? (I drive that in my home country of Singapore).

@@themorronshacks I have a 2015 1.0 60hp fabia and I get about 5.5L/100km on a flat highway going 120-130, trying to overtake anything even at low speeds is terrible tho, you need like 1km of space to overtake ahahah
@DarkRobin1903 жыл бұрын
I bought it as a first car because of insurance, 2350e to insure on this, if I got a 1.2L engine it would've been about 2650e and anything bigger would be above 3000e, it's slow asf and I'm replacing it as soon as my first year of insurance is up
@themorronshacks3 жыл бұрын
@@DarkRobin190 at least you have some nice fuel consumption :D. I really doubt with constant 120-130 will be 5.5 per 100 because the engine is struggling and giving 7-8 l at these speeds

Maybe it is a new car...normally cars get faster with time and if you drive with some good rpm for long time, you will see the car growing horses😁.

Haha, good point. Friction lowers and some oil starts going into the burning camera and act like a nitro 😁
