Glad my video helped you a bit. Some arresters can be stiffened up a bit as these can be. Have a look : kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6SqdqRqZ8Seg68

You're a life-saver man. Both of my front door stops in my Sedan were worn to the end - It's getting annoying, so the fact that I found a channel that can help me bring my grandpa's old Fabia back to shape is such a relief. The heater blower is getting on my nerves, and I can't wait to get it to quiet down Pozdrowienia :D

Hello Harvey, thank you for all your knowledge and videos on the Fabia. Would you know how to fix there being no warning sounds or indicator noises. Thank you
@HatBoyHarvey4 жыл бұрын
I will look into this for you. Do they still work the lights? The indicator switch arm can clogg with dirt - clean with electrical contact spray with power off. Check relay under driver wheel well - does it click? check all contacts/lamps.
@tomwootton47544 жыл бұрын
@@HatBoyHarvey yes all lights and functions work. Just no noises for anything. This includes like the opening of the door when lights are left on, fuel light ding, indicatora and hazard light noise, and also any warning light noises. Thank you

Hi Harvey I was watching how you removed the rear bumper on your Skoda Fabian mk1 my fabia has the black strip in the middle of the rear bumper like yours has and do you know if the strip is removerable without removing the bumper from Paul on the wirral
@HatBoyHarvey Жыл бұрын
I'm sure it is removable, but I think it maybe and bumper off job not to break the clips, but I've never really noticed, but now you mention it I may do a video on it, thanks :-)

Thanks I may do a video on that. If I recall they are just like the front ones, but much harder to get at as you have to take off the central trim, which I do have a video on :-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYGrZ31mqp5msJo
@skowron2412 жыл бұрын
@@HatBoyHarvey in general, I took the door trim off and noticed that there is no hole through which the stopper can be pulled out, as it is attached to the door. and I do not know if it will be necessary to dismantle the window lifting mechanism

Would you be kind enough and guide me thorough the replacement of the backdoors arresters. Is there any tricky part I have to be careful of? Or it s just a matter of unscrewing just three bolts?
@HatBoyHarvey4 жыл бұрын
I 'm guessing, but seems the only difference is the door panel has to be removed or lifted a bit first :-)

Hi I followed your video on how to fit the door arresters but when I done it the door wouldn’t close. Any ideas? Thank you
@HatBoyHarvey Жыл бұрын
Are the new ones new? or have you just stiffened up the old ones, if so then you need to slacken them off a bit. If new they should just work if you installed them as I have done. As you can see in the video I didn't fit new ones so I don't have experience of them, maybe they just need a stronger initial push, but don't force the door if they don't budge. Check the fitting is correct again, is there some kind of lock on them?
@lavenderbulb6902 Жыл бұрын
@@HatBoyHarvey Yes they are brand new from Skoda. I’ll have to try and fit them again sometime. Thank you for the reply.

Hi I have been watching your videos and they have really helped me out with my Skoda Fabia 06 1.4. And I wonder, so you have any simple trick to get all the cables through the rubber thing (from Sweden and don't know the english name) between the door and car. My Windows didn't work so I had to fix the cables that was broken, after many cursing I did get the cables back. But there must be an easier way, any thoughts???
@HatBoyHarvey Жыл бұрын
Me too! This seems to be a fiddly job, I tried inserting one at a time, but that didn't work and was actually harder. If I ever find an easy way I will do a video on it :-)
@sandramartinsson9861 Жыл бұрын
My thinking was to put a pipe through the rubberthing and put the cables through that and when the cables are through remove the pipe or use cable ties to make the rubber shorter. I will try these next time I have to take them away. My friend said I could use soapwater or silicone spray too.

Can you please share if you know how to remove radio without of keys on fabia if it is posible and how to fix radio witch is playing only one radio station and losing sound on both speakers or at all sound but when is pressed with hand insade cabin it plays it normaly
@HatBoyHarvey2 жыл бұрын
You need the keys to remove the radio or something metal 2x5x100mm. It sounds your aerial maybe loose on back of radio or by the connection to aerial on roof. The rear connection to radio may also be loose, which could be why your speakers don't work, if not then look at connections to all speakers within the doors. Hope this helps :-)
@vladimirmilosavljevic66282 жыл бұрын
@@HatBoyHarvey when i press radio with hand it works one one side then another or both it depends where it is pressed.And after some time it start searching by kt self and go on the one station where it works fine it starts search every time for that station idk why it goes only on that

Which Locktite did you use?
@HatBoyHarvey4 жыл бұрын
somtimes a specific threadlocker is specified, but none as far as I know for this other than oem bolts are coated in a blue threadlocker. Loctite Purple (222): Low Strength Threadlockers. Loctite Blue (243): Medium Strength Threadlockers. Loctite Green (294): Penetrating Threadlockers. Loctite Red (271): High Strength - permanent Threadlockers

@HatBoyHarvey Жыл бұрын
Hmm, maybe I'll look into that, thanks :-)

@HatBoyHarvey i ordered new one for front but in the back I want to switch left for right because it turns out side doesn't matter and those door stops are quite expensive. Front is cheaper than rear so i bought it. Also it will be faster to change because you need only work on one side. But I was wondering how this is installed in the back. Hope it's in the car not in the doors. Much simpler to remove side panels than door panel.
No reason to change it. Doors are still possible to open and close. This is lot of work and no much difference. I never replaced this part.
@HatBoyHarvey4 жыл бұрын
I haven't replaced mine as you can see in the video, but someone asked me to do a video on it so it is there to help anyone who was thinking of it and wanted to see how :-)
