I'm about to fit a rear window cam and want to conceal the cable behind the trim and route it through the conduit. I'm so glad I found this video. Looking at my trim, I was about to start unscrewing those two side screws thinking they would release the side panels! Thanks a lot for your time.

Got the boot latch working, once I removed the panel I realised a wire to the latch itself had snapped, your videos are great

Oh this bring back so many memories and hours of cursing. Could have done with this video about a year ago when I installed my LED number plate lights with integrated reversing camera.

I bet that reversing camera is great, what head unit is it hooked upto? The LED lights I may do as it may help stop polis stops ;-)

@@HatBoyHarvey Sony XAV-AX3005DB. It's connected via wireless transmitter/receiver so I didn't have to run a video cable through the car. I struggle with judging distances directly behind the car, so it is really helpful when parking.

Cheers for this. I have a 55 estate and the rear washer pipe has become disconnected. I didn't want to just start pulling the panelling apart in case I missed a step and broke it beyond repair.

Thank you for your very informative and easy to follow videos. I have a SKODA exactly the same as this , even the colour. The back hatch switch doesn’t work, well once in a while . I tried opening the passenger door trick beforehand but no luck . There is a lever beside the drivers seat to open the petrol hatch. I have no worries about someone milking the car so I’d like to move that cable over to the back hatch lock . How do I remove the side panel in the boot without ruining them ?

Thanks, you're very welcome. It is probably the driver side door lock that is causing the issue with the tailgate lock, replace it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZOWc2yVo7OhbMU . Glad you liked it, I thought about a MK2, 1.9PD engine, but don't like the high up look that much, maybe a vRS, but the seats mark too easy also hard to find a good standard one as many have been remapped.

@@HatBoyHarvey put some sense in your head :) the future is economy. Small Gasoline engines. I had a Kawasaki ER650 and change to a Honda CB125F. The Honda does 2,3 l/100 km. It even has lambda sensors (in a 125 cc). With 1 rear tyre of the Kawasaki I buy 2 or three to the Honda. Maintenance super cheap compared to the big engine. The street race days are over. The future is to save the Earth. I remember when I passed a slow car in the highway at high speed and get out in the next exit, when I entered the road, the car I passed was near me. Lol

I have recently had my rear wiper motor replaced and I noticed the boot trim is slightly loose. I can see that the clips are no longer retaining in the holes. Shall I replace them or do they need bending back into shape?

I presume you mean the metal spring clips - The clips may have come loose from the moulding, if so, the panel will need to come off and the clips put back into the moulding and then reattached. If you can see the clip is secure in the moulding, but not holding, even when pushed in hard then yes replace the clip (I've never had a metal clip do that) If a garage has left it like that after replacing the panel, you'll need to take it back to them to fix as it shouldn't be loose.
