Another great video Harvey. Thanks a lot. Just 2 little comments. 1-. You can use a regular w5w T10 led bulb in order to maintain the original lamp. I've done it in my Combi and it works perfect. Only take care in using a good quality bulb. 2- In Combi version (MK I), in the right side of the trunk there is not a lamp, but you can find the hole for a lamp covered with a plastic cover. You can remove the cover and install a new lamp. You can take the current doing a cable extension from the original lamp. I have done it in my Combi 2 years ago and the change is unbelievable.

Looks like a good bright LED and I like the design. I have this issue of it not working, I think it's within the boot catch :(

I did that too, but I didnt change the light itself. I bought a led bulb that shines to the side and just replaced it. It is a lot better and brighter that way.

Hello and thank you for the video. When I change the trunk and the interior lights to LEDs I notice that, when door or trunk closed, the LEDs keep on with a very low bright (not sufficient to notice in the halogen lamps). This happened to somebody also? In the trunk I also installed a switch near the led to be able to turn on/off the trunk light as I want.

There is a signal current when the lamp is off that the control unit recognises. his helps the control unit to turn the lamps off after being on for a long time so the battery doesn't discharge. there is a tiny resister in the holder if you noticed that stops some lamps turning completely off if they don't have enough resistance. The ones I used were can-bus compatible that work with resistance control circuits. I didn't want to go into that on the video as I don't fully know enough about these systems yet :-)

@@HatBoyHarvey thank you for elucidate me in this subject. I have never heard about can bus compatible lamps. But I know a case that needed to install resistors with the LEDs for the turn lights relay cycle with proper cadency.

Hi @HatBoyHarvey , after a long journey, as i came off the motorway had some difficulty changing gear it seems to be more troublesome in all gears now-but works,the main clutch is fine, on clock 122000, skoda gabia mk1 2006, can you please help me with some thoughts

Hello only a small problem but I have a problem with my interior light - it has not worked since I had the car I’ve done all the basic checks etc wondered if you had any experience of them failing for you? Thank you

Do your door warning lights work? if these don't work these can affect the interior light also. They cables behind the A pillar bellows can fray so worth a check also. Fuse? have you put a meter on to see if there is any power at all there in any switch function?

@@HatBoyHarvey hello sorry for late reply, I have battery voltage at fuse and around 5v at interior light itself. Door card light also inop, had a quick check of wires behind a pillar and nothing out of ordinary. What is the next step as believe I have heard that they short out on the door?? If so have you ever experienced that? Thank you

If you use these lights that I used they with turn off as they are can-bus compatible. Ordinary LED lamps can have problems.

No switch on the light, but it actuates on when the boot is opened. There is a micro-switch in the latch handle that sends a signal to the ECU
