Nice review chaps I've got the basic 1.5tsi se which has got the smaller wheels so it rides very well I've had the car for nearly 6 months now and couldn't be more happy you feel you are driving a guality car I'm a fairly careful driver so fuel economy I'm averaging 46 miles per gallon on long journeys 53 or 54 miles per gallon hope this has helped other people in someway

I have recently taken delivery of a 1.5 petrol SEL Auto. Lovely vehicle in many respects but concerned about the fuel consumption. 29 mpg on a rural journey of 100 miles. Hopefully when the engine beds in this will improve. The DSG gearbox refuses to select 7th gear until the vehicle reaches 50 mph. This is obviously affecting the fuel consumption. The only disappointment is the lack of a conventional CD unit. A sd1 & sd2 slot is available in the multimedia unit.
@PlanetautoUK4 жыл бұрын
Great to hear your enjoying it, give it a little more time, if no joy contact where you got it from, it should be more economical than that as long as Ben’s behind the wheel.
@alanhyde87444 жыл бұрын
Vast improvement in the fuel consumption. Now returning 42 mpg. Comparing my old VW Tiguan 2.0 DSG to the 1.5 petrol I find the petrol is reluctant to change into top (7th) until the speed reaches 53 mph. Using the paddle gear change the vehicle is happy in 7th gear at 43 mph with a 300 rpm reduction & hopefully a further improvement in fuel consumption. This just proves how flexible the TDI was.
@PlanetautoUK4 жыл бұрын
That’s good to hear - it’s likely to keep improving as well. At least you have the option to get into top gear using the paddle change at a lower speed. Be interesting to see what it returns in a few months or so...

Very versatile and great fit and finish. Thoughtful design and looks like it will last well in everyday use. Spacious for its size. The 1.5 Turbo petrol seems like a Winner. The 2.0 litre diesel is good and not too intrusive but more low end orientated. Full marks to Skoda for giving it the comedy name Karoq, shows a great sense of humour.

Yes, Skoda know how to make a clever SUV, all the additions, ice scraper, space solutions even engines that shut down cylinders. Every SUV in the Skoda range starts with a K and ends with a Q even the latest SUV for India Kushaq it’s name has been tweaked to fit too. Thank you Sean

Eco mode and running on 2 cylinders is for town and city driving were you do not need full engine power. Self adjusting suspension is expensive option over standard suspension.

I have a lease car. 1.6 td dsg auto. SEL. Since September 2018. Due to Covid lockdown, no foreign trips and mostly urban driving. 47 to 52mpg. UK roads are worn out with potholed
@davidk37294 жыл бұрын
(Continued),..Potholes. Allowing for that it’s still one of the most uncomfortable rides of any car I’ve owned in sixty years. Harsh and jiggly suspension. 12,000 miles with only one problem. Breakdown call out at airport after four weeks and battery was so flat it required replacement. Dashcam was left on to be triggered by shock so was unexpected problem. DSG gearbox works fine once you get used to it’s grabby start from stationary. Steering is so light there is no feedback at all. Brakes are powerful and efficient. Reviewers say it has huge interior space. I don’t see it. With front seats adjusted back for average size driver there’s little knee room in the back. Boot is smaller, and narrower than my old 2005 CItroen C5 Exclusive. No doubt hydropneumatic suspension magic carpet ride has spoiled me for comfort. Minor annoyance is rear door design which is part of the wheel arch and allows road dirt to coat the door trim seal. Is due for replacement in nine months. Maybe I go for Kodiaq if test drive shows it’s more comfortable.
@PlanetautoUK4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it’s been 50/50 as a vehicle, loves and hates, good economy and the fact it’s been reliable great news. It’s good to hear this level of feedback as it’s something we can’t get a feel of over a week, looks like we need some long term review cars. The Kodiaq was one my favourite vehicles, especially the vRS - DSG like you say can be brutal, I like the decisiveness especially in Sport modes, keep us posted on what you decide on, thank you

Planet Auto lol self importing is very expensive. I was going to buy my dads old Porsche Cayenne for a very cheap price, but the price of importing means I could buy a much much muuuuuuuch newer version :D it’s around £30k. Hopefully they will release it soon here. I did notice that the cheap base spec Tiguan is the same price as the basic cheap kodiaq. I have noticed they still sell the older yeti here :)
