Will still say the Honda city is the best since the aftersales service and the service cost is much more efficient. The v-tec is still a classic gearbox. No denial that the day are way ahead of the lacking cvt. Anyways the top model of city is 17.. whereas the Germans are in a heavier price bracket. No denial that the Germans are the best driving cars but city is much better when it comes to practicality. Personally I love this segment and I am very happy to see it growing again.

U said dat 14mm difference between city and slavia but looking both the cars from the ground surface Anyone can see barely any difference in their ground clearance whereas if I compare bolero and slavia from the ground surface everyone can see huge difference in their actual g clearance which in paper jst 1mm difference . Seems like 179 mm ground clearance in slavia is a misleading information due to which u r assuming 14mm difference will make it huge. But in comparison with bolero against slavia, it’s 179mm ground clearance simply seems fake in real practical world.

Japanese cars for reliability, German cars for performance. iVtec engine is superior anyday. Something to blame is City's chassis. City petrol manual has both performance and reliability. Mileage range is reasonable at 13-17kmpl. Down sized turbo petrols is yet to prove. Mileage sucks if revved high. Ranges between 8-18kmpl.

@@kill3rbyysight The 5th gen City's chassis is made for urban commutes... but becomes bouncy on highways due to it's softer suspension setup as compared to its previous generations. Also there is evident road noise inside cabin at above 100 kmph. Slavia is just perfect for highway commutes, but in bumper-to-bumper traffic, it struggles due to turbo lag at lower RPMs.

There is huge differece between the leatherette seats vs honda City leather seats, also it gives you acces without touching any buttons which is very useful and impression creator, all window auto up down, it's 50 60 grand less than both. read. new honda city has unstable body shell. VW MBQA01 platform is unrivalled. Honda can only dream of that quality. in 2022, VW was no 1 in revenue. Toyota No.2 .Ford No,3 globally. Legendary sedan is Corolla. Honda city is considered as a cheap sedan all over the world. Civic is a better option. Audi sedans are also based on this platform and Audis are far superior to Honda. In fact, Honda is nothing but a mass market brand. Their luxury brand acura is a failure. VW luxury brands you know for sure, Bugati, Lamborghini, and Porsche.

I know it is difficult to digest that there is a car which finally can overthrow honda city as the king of the segment. I love honda city but have to say Slavia is better as an overall package. With the maintenance packages which skoda provides it also is not heavy on the pocket in terms of maintenance. Overall with any of the 3 cars there isn't a wrong choice. I personally would go with Slavia as an all rounder.

Honda City is the best all rounder, just look at the timeless and plush interiors. Add to it a reliable engine. That Virtus AC vents in the middle dash are just ugly for such a costly car. Good job in doing a headlight test, not sure why most/all reviewers neglect it.

The much appreciated fact that enticed me was that during the most part the orator kept the exteriors/interiors/comparison charts in the frame rather than being inside the frame... Another things I liked is announcing that styling is subjective and it is what it is... Take ur pick Also, in my humble opinion the door thud test - city should be like 4 points below the Germans, as in build quality is not in the same league i would say. @motoroctane Its an amazing comparison without a doubt and we all respect your hardwork here… but why you guys not speaking about mechanical issues in Skoda Slavia, its really heart breaking when we buy a 16+ lac car and visit service center often.. Issues are listing up like anything, first it was famous EPC, now poor or worst AC quality, break noise, electrical wiring, cabin quality and so on.. Honda City may be not as eye catchy as Skoda/VW but you can simply trust and ride anywhere anytime.. I booked Slavia 2months back to understand what i am heading joined multiple owners group, they are abusing,helpless what else to say.. come on its high time you guys need to speak up, we subscribers are really trust you but leading a death track is horrible.. Without a second though i canceled and booked Honda City ZX.. At the end its all about reliability and comfort.. I made a decision and I know, i will never regret.. Honda is a Honda simple as that..

I like the build of virtus. slavia and Honda are Okay. But if you compare city's 1.5L CVT to 1L AT of slavia/virtus, city is faster to reach 100km/h (just above 10s). VW/skoda takes 12-13s. Plus city gives more mileage (13+ in city and 18-20 on high ways) any day, on any road. For slavia it is 9 in city and 15-16 on highway.

As I own both the 5th gen city and the slavia I could say that the slavia feels better than the city in every sense is a better choice for highway while the city might be a better package from the reliability point of you and lower variants

1.0 or the 1.5 tsi? Obviously the 1.5 tsi is better in highway performance but if you are implying that the 1.0 tsi is better than the Honda 1.5 NA, i have to strongly disagree having driven both

Yes , i am talking about 1.0 l and I completely agree that the city feels punchier and has more power but by highway I mean that it feels packed and safer but I’ll still say the city is better in driving dynamics

I like all the 3 cars but went for my first love, i.e. Honda city, which beats the other hands down in the mid variant. Also the new platform isn't tested in the long run for the skoda and VW yet. However all the 3 cars are absolute gems and one can't go wrong when buying the other.

VW platform is not tested? Where is Honda and where is VW globally? Benz and BMW come after VW group. Get your facts Honda should not be even parked near a VW brand - Audi to Skoda

Hello, Due to my budget constraints I am opting for VW virtus highline, but want the topline alloy wheels instead of the regular wheels which the brand endorses...Can the dealer switch it for me by paying the difference in amount?? Any ideas sirji
