This looks like it could apply to the Superb wing mirrors too but can't for the life of me get the mirror to come off... worried if I do force it, something will snap.

Not sure I’m afraid, the Mk4 does have different styling which I believe does include the mirrors. That said, there are many similarities between mk3&4 - I’d say there’s a good chance.. Let me know how you get on?
