I usually decorate Home Plate with most of this stuff. It's filled with unique or rare items I've found (stolen, looted) around the Commonwealth. Also legendary and upgraded weapons and armor. Unless it's absolutely useless, I rarely sell those. Due to my Leave No Teddy Bear Behind policy there are a lot of them sitting around too. I'm going for a rich, well traveled, very heavily armed, and possibly slightly crazy motif.

Interesting note about the Grasshopper, it can disappear and reappear on top of the building. This happened to me. I had it on display in Home Plate and it vanished. When I went back to the top of the building it was there! The entire Cabot House respawns. I've raided it about five times for the "clean" items so far. :) I had no idea about the different sized Buttercups and the giant Vim! bottle. I can't wait to get them! I am terribly excited about this series. One of my favorite aspects of this game is settlement building and decorating so this is huge. Excited to see more!

He's actually slowed quite a bit on the fo4 uploads, but Paul has an extensive catalog you should definitely check out. Like literally anything you could want to know. From building king size four post beds, to wireless wiring, to unique uses and applications you probably never thought possible. I know I didn't, and settlement building was already one of my favorite aspects of fo4 before even finding this channel. When I did it was like getting to learn from a grand master. I still play fo4 all the time and I use tips I learned here for nearly every part of my builds. One of my favorites is using a combination of sinkable posts and a conduit to place things almost anywhere at any level.

Great info, I didn't know about the giant Vim bottle! Oh, and maybe mention when an item is lumped into the junk category because the game WILL scrap it when you are building even if it's a unique item. I learned that hard way with the grasshopper. :( So always store your unique items somewhere safe!

For 'Clean' items I find Deb at Bunker Hill usually has a few things in stock. She's close to Cabot House too, so you can swing by for a few extra things.

I made a doughnuts shop with the content creator club. I also got the nuka cola one where you get the elk as a pet.... I sent it there and watched it knock all of my collected clean items off the counters and my wife laughed while I executed it three times for vengeance. Then deleted 4 hours of game play and hit the reset button on my mistakes.

All these years later and we're still finding gems in this game...more non-storable items: weed whackers (2 in SH), shopping carts, tricycles, safety cones, and I'm still scouring areas for more things I can find and display at my settlements. I moved all of the cones and barriers from the Vault 111 entrance to Sanctuary and I have placed them strategically throughout the settlement. Glad to see we're still working together to immerse ourselves in this game!

Kind of related, and sorry if this is not new info to you: Stolen items can be 'laundered' by selling to a any vendor and buying it back. Craft a small bundle of Jet to help recoup the money when buying it back again :)

Three of the boats at Spectacle Island can be moved by using a pillar to pop them upright, then they can be moved without the pillar, I made a dock over by the house connected with the existing dock already there for two of the boats, then I put one over by the main house I built on the other side of the island

There are also clean Items in vault 81. You can take a bunch of them without angering the residents after you complete a specific quest and obtain a room for yourself.

Man, just loving the content, keep it coming, i have a great blueprint to make a usa style mailbox id like to share as ive not seen anyone make a vid on it. Things you need: Wire fence post Lobster cage 2 Rugs(first one) Green Footlocker 1 steel pillar 1 conduit 4 letters MAIL Steps: 1. Place Lobster cage on 1 Rug. (this rug stays so place directly on top) 2. Rug glitch Green Footlocker into Lobster cage. (remove rug). 3. Pillar / conduit glitch all steps above onto Wire Fence Post. 4. Pillar / conduit glitch 4letters MAIL onto side of Lobster cage. 5. Group Select and place where you want. Added bonus add a Armor Rack with the postman outfit nearby. Lining things up may be tricky but you will get it. :) thanks for the teachings.

I recently found miniature versions of a rubber alien, baby rattle and bottle. They're maybe half the size of the standard version. They were tucked behind a door in a building, but i can't remember which one now😭 As far as I'm aware they are unique one of a kind variants.

Hey SZ, Just picked up Fallout4 a couple of months ago, thanks for the vids. I figured out another way to ensure that corpses don't keep reappearing in you settlement (probably an old suggestion by now but you never know). Move the corpses before you claim the workshop. It seems that the game remembers the positions of those pesky bodies at the moment you claim the workshop (something like that anyway). On my second play through now and it's worked for me so far, you don't even have to take them all the way out of the settlement area if you don't want to. Now i'm wondering if can make some sort of gruesome display with them...

As for the "chalkboards" I don't have a dedicated video for that but it's very similar to how it's done in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZnFe4WgrLNlnLs ...The only difference is that you'd use the vanilla posters instead. They have a green backside. Then just add a little shelf for the chalk and a piece of lead for the eraser. ;-)

I’m not sure if you would consider this a “building glitch” but I’m surprised you never mentioned the junk, scrap, duplication glitch. It works like this: You drop the junk you want to be duplicated on the floor, go into build mode. And the tricky part. You would scrap the item but as you are about to scrap you would also hit the store but almost immediately as you hit scrap. And hold onto the store button and if done right, you have both windows open and as long as your still holding the store button opened you can store & scrap the same item duplicating the resource. And on top of duplication it will also lower your size bar

Being creative is the best addition to have. ;-) As for the DLCs, they're bought separately or they all come included with the _Game of the Year_ edition. Once installed, you can play them in any order.

For the record I didn’t realize other people knew about that trick to drag cars I usually use guns to do the job and noticed if the cars that are far away from the settlement I have to go into the settlement workshop or they’d teleport back to there original location I mainly used the cars as walls after I destroyed them I didn’t want to tell anyone years ago because I didn’t want it to get patched but now I don’t have to

I love using those shelves for my shops too. Just be warned, don't use them for weapons and ammo... especially not for the Big Boy MIRV and a line of mini nukes... just don't.

Late to the party but I have a concern with any placed items If I dropped, say, the giant Buttercup or the Vim bottle, will they despawn after some time or can I breathe easy knowing I could go on a 3 day quest and when I come back, they're still in place

So, I don't know, if this item is gonna show up in later videos. But I feel like, you forgot to mention teddy bears. There is a giant Teddy, acting as a bus driver, right outside Egret Tours Marina, who, as far as I can tell, keeps his size, just like the Vim bottle.

Pretty sure that you do not need to do all of the mini quests for the Vault tec assets. All you have to do is kill the overseer. That is what did just because I did not want to do all of the mini quests in my most recent game, and just walked in to the vault did not talk to the overseer just shot her in the head and all of the Vault tec assets unlocked for all of my settlements.
