This is so helpful. The quality is A++…I’m looking forward to your outpost and shipbuilding tutorials. Not one Starfield “guru” has pointed out the importance of using the color change to easily check the inner rings before. Keep setting the bar high!

The color change was the best part for me! This allowed me to run through the keys and decide which wouldn't work at all and which only a applied to 1 or 2 rings. Your tip completely aligns with my experience in lock picking.

For the first time in a Bethesda game I've pretty much ignored the lock picking because the loot you get from a locked container just isn't worth the time it takes to unlock it especially when you seem to run into so many locked containers in every area.

Good to see you diving into Starfield, Paul - looking forward to some outpost builds.

I'm guessing some early lockpickers are going to see this style and think of Dima's puzzles in FO4. 😅 Seems very time consuming until it becomes 2nd nature. Looking forward to more content from both games.

Hey Paul , watching your beautiful guides since the early Fallout 4 content you did. I'm so happy to see you do Starfield stuff too! I remember almost flipping my table in the very beginning of the game, because i coudn't figure out how to do the grav jump off the first planet. Had to look it up and was really upset, that there was no explanation, like it's fun to discover the elemenal game mechanics yourself :D

So great fun you’ve started this series, I’m 150 hours in and didn’t know about the colour ring difference 😅 anyone else noticing that Digipics become less abundant the further in you get?

It's helpful if you count the number of slots in the ring you are working on. I believe the most you'll find in a single ring is 8. From there you can see what you need to get pass to the next ring. For example, if you had a ring with 7, you'll need 3+3+1 or 4+3 or 2+2+3 and so on. Also you can plan ahead to the next ring to see what combination you'll need for it.
@rowenatulley8527 ай бұрын
Oh man, I missed the color thing completely! Thanks for the tip! I can easily do the inner two rings, but rely on auto-slot for the outer rings if there are three or more. I also use a digipick to eliminate unused keys for master and expert locks. And in spite of finding lots of digipicks in buildings and on corpses, I always buy them when available . . .

Just in time for my No Crime playthrough. 😄 As for the Digipick mini game; absolutely got it thr second I went to pick my first digital lock.
@nathanielaprill5299 Жыл бұрын
I usually start with line them up with the inner most ring. Then align a few, and on master locks I'll use a auto slot if I'm not certain then check the rest still remain viable.

Oh, about that visual glitch, I find if you slot the key piece with the most pins first for a given ring and then slot the rest in order of descending pins as needed it avoids that issue. I know I once burned 4-5 digipicks on a lock until I noticed what was happening...

This lockpicking is a little more of an interesting change to the fallout locks, though i did enjoy the fallout computer hacking. As for grenades, I haven't come across a game yet where I don't blow myself up grenades lol

Instead of going back using up a digit stick you can leave the lock and it will only use one DS instead of backing out using one per

Every single load, every single game, every single realod....changes what enemies, boxes, and mannequins have. If you keep reloading you can even get Rares (1 bonus trait), Epics (2 bonus traits), and Lengendaries (3 bonus traits) traits are build specific. Some are good, some not depending on how and why, usually character Role Play you're building your character. Enjoy.

the problem with lock picking is the same in all BGS games...chump change...I have picked master locks to find...cheese wheels and rolling pins...and have left it all...to keep over encumbrance down...my only outpost is just a storage facility...to keep personal and ship inventory to a minimum...on the bright side sometimes a shortcut is behind a lock...but that is not a saving grace...🙈

Sometimes you don't have the right key to use and you have to start over again. And it's not because you already used it, when it happens to me in the 2nd ring I'm sure the 1st was not right too.

You are completely wrong! Miscellaneous is junk as well as useful items that cannot be categorised into any other section. Everything that is completely useless, like pens, markers, notepads, will end up in Misc. Resources are resources. Useful items used for crafting.
