@DJRGProductions for me, skream is an artist i started out listening to, called too boring then moved to crazy heavy stuff. i still love the new dubstep, but im getting back into older more ambient stuff now. AND LOVING IT

The whole "all hail the creator" thing was in reference to Skream (hence the "that being said..."). I never said I loved Skrillex. In fact I hardly even like him. But that doesn't mean he isn't due respect.
@PhriekshoTV12 жыл бұрын
@deadpancakes308 If you had read all my comments, you'd see that I only mentioned Skrillex because people were accusing me of being a worshipper of him. I do not listen to him that often, if at all.

@deadpancakes308 I know what lfo is. But so much mainstream sucks with wobble bass, simply because it's all underwhelming when the drop hits; it doesn't fit with the rest of the song. THIS, however, actually works. If you noticed my more recent comments, I actually have grown to like this song. Now start reading more of the fucking comments. This argument is over.
@imtheinformation13 жыл бұрын
@DJRGProductions Anyone can make a 15 seconds note like Flux Pavilion and get all the sweaty bros' attention. Minimalism however, can't be taught. It's instinctive. Either you can make your sounds work together with silence and space, or you can't. People like Skream, Pearson Sound, 2562, Biome can. People like Doctor P etc just can't.
@thatsjustme2512 жыл бұрын
im pretty sure thats what defines dubstep rather than the drop
@PhriekshoTV13 жыл бұрын
@brownscirocco I have a few ambients, but nothing so minimal. Minimal is just that-minimal. Minimalist dubstep (and house for that matter) is the kinda of dubstep a monk would listen to. I'm only 17, so I'm just not ready to chill out like that yet. I'm not all over Skrillex, and I still like a little of Benga and the like, but this is just too minimal for me.
@PhriekshoTV12 жыл бұрын
@codmod55 Then I simply am not for minimalism. I can listen to Benga and Kromestar or something every once in a while, but that's about it as far as old school dubstep is concerned. And actually, Skrillex has multiple drops. Even if some just repeat, it is still a second drop. I'm not crazy for him; as a matter of fact, for the most part I listen to dubstep on Newgrounds. A lot of the mainstream stuff is crap, like Mt. Eden. They try to be harder, but have good builds and underwhelming drops.

@XxDudexXcoreXfuk123 But I understand music enough to know that this doesn't affect me at all as a song, therefore it's not that good to me.

@MrAndreasdekeyser Then I just prefer brostep, rawrstep, and glitchstep. Dubstep to me is energy more than anything. Sure, bass is nice, but I love a good melody. Balance is required, therefore pure dubstep is not for me. I get it.

@stevieb515 Actually, a lot of my stuff is fairly original compared to a lot of the lackluster shit that's popular with most people, that have good buildups and everything else is a limp-dicked letdown. I make what I make. To each his own. To me, repetition is annoyance (therefore, Deadmau5 is also seriously overrated, with a couple exceptions.)

Is it just me, or did it take 3 minutes, 39 seconds, just to reach a drop? I just don't understand this such basic form of dubstep. I make it, but could NEVER make anything as repetitive as the likes of Skream or Caspa. Minimalism kills when gone to the extreme...
