I remember growing up through my teen years obsessed with dubstep like this, but my setlist was so limited, and I wish I knew why. This is an older track, and I’ve only been listening to dubstep for 5 years or so. Always liked a few of Skrillex’s songs, but not a whole lot. The thing I have noticed is that promotional channels that a lot of people use (such as DSG) don’t let people expand much. For example, with DSG, one of the most popular songs released there, We Are Number One (MadRats Remix) with 45M views, is obviously a good listen with the amount of views, and lots of people have heard the song. Now if we look at MadRats other songs (on his channel or SC account), there is no other song that has close to half a million listens. People listen to the song, say ‘hey I like this’, but then never check out the rest of the artist. It limits people from experiencing more music that they would like, and it doesn’t help out the artist at all. If I hear a song or two from a artist that I like, I check out at least a few more songs to know if I should follow the artist or not.
