If he was so important, he wouldn’t be forgotten 11 years later. Fact of the matter is that dubstep was one of those phases that was a product of its time. It became popular just as basically everyone was getting used to smart phones and that new era of technology. But it isn’t organic music as much as it is computer programs and some synth. Even the album Torches by Foster the People, one that has more organic instrumentation than Skrillex and came out around the same time, seems to now just be a product of the time. It all falls into the churn of pop music.
