Today, we’re diving into the famous collection of ancient Chinese military tactics known as the Thirty-Six Stratagems, 三十六計 (sān shí liù jì). This is a fantastic topic for intermediate learners, offering intriguing historical stories and expressions used in modern conversations about work, business, and relationships.
In this first video we’re starting with Chapter 1: Securing Victory (勝戰計), featuring strategies for solidifying victory when in a superior position. We’ll discuss the stories and modern uses of 圍魏救趙 (wéi wèi jiù zhào) and 借刀殺人 (jiè dāo shā rén).
