I wish they would bring back these kinds of films set in those days and have the lead star be a dog. I love these action adventure films.

I would say he's probably smarter since he's a dog... but you can't say that about German shepherds. The only ones I've ever met were 'chuhuahua stupid' =)

Its hilarious that dogs were smarter back then than they are now. Most likely because they weren't ignored by their owners most of the time cause they were always busy with the electronics they have. They Had more time for training and being a faithful companion. Cats were even smarter in the early days. I watched old movies and animals were extremely smart and loyal to their Masters.....

Yes that's for sure! I love movies about dogs. They are such beautiful animals. They never wake up cranky, miserable or unhappy. Every day to them is a new and happy adventure. And while I'm speaking about dogs... A dyslexic-agnostic-insomniac is someone who stays awake all night wondering if there's a Dog.

Well, this would never float today. "... killer of his mistress" would have to be changed to "pet mommy" or something equally stupid like that. =) Rin Tin Tin Jr. starred in 14 films between 1932 and 1939. His date of birth is September 1931 but no date of death is shown; so he may still be around... which would make him around 630 in dog years today! =) Molly O'Day (Anne Norton) appeared in 20 films between 1927 and 1935. This was her final film. Her real name was Suzanne Dobson Noonan. Lois January (Barbara Franklin) was one of the Emerald City Manicurists in "The Wizard of Oz" and a cultist in "The Black Cat" starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Unlike Molly O'Day, Lois' actual name was Laura Lois January. Regis Toomey (Bob Franklin) portrayed Chief Inspector Bernie Ohls in "The Big Sleep," Det. Sgt. Gillespie in Alfred Hitchcok's "Spellbound," Sanders in "His Girl Friday" and Arvide Abernathy in "Guys and Dolls." He was also Dr. Barton Stuart on "Petticoat Junction."
