Skull Knight was king Gaeseric. He is addressed by many characters at different times as your majesty. He died in the first set of set of Beserker armor that guts gets. When guts and Skullknight meet the dwarf blacksmith who made the armor we find out that a second set of armor was made by him. The second set of armor is the armor that the skullknight is wearing. His armor is reffered to as his coffin. In terms of what he is and how is been around for 1000 years we find out that Flora commited an act of taboo. She was fond of Skullknight and his lover. I beleive this act of tabbo was to resurrect or take his soul from inside the beserker armor he died in and move him into the newly crafted set of armor. I think he even refers to himself as wraith like. A good comparison would be the witch king from LOTR.

I think SK's importance in the story may turn out to be huge beyond what we think. Femto could've crushed SK on his way out of the Eclipse but didn't, we assume because he spared Guts, but I think that's a red herring...maybe he couldn't kill SK or wasn't allowed to due to SK's role in the scheme of the Godhand..

This is such a huge point I don't think people consider, but was something I immediately considered once they explained how the Godhand, especially Femto, perceive Time. I thought the same thing, it was such a strange moment one night not think about because of how much happens after. Incredible if we may be on to something (pretty sure we are)

We've already seen it. Femto redirected SK's sword of actuation slice which basically lead to rewriting the fabric of reality. It hasn't been stated, but what if the godhand couldn't have accomplished that feat themselves and were relying on SK to get involved to further their plans? Femto seemed mighty pleased with himself and SK looked shocked, showing that his precience isn't perfect and that he is subject to causality too.

Honestly, Gambino's character is wasted. He makes no appearances after Golden Age. I thought it would be cool if Gambino would continue mocking Guts and pair up with a beast of darkness. Would be awesome if we had a panel where Gambino walks in with beast of darkness, heckles Guts, and then gets consumed by Beast of Darkness to remind him how Guts slain him.

Probably been theorized by much bigger berserk fans as myself is a newish fan. Maybe one of the few ways guts defeats Femto or any of the god hand is by dipping the dragon slayer sword into the sword of actuation and the skull knight reforms it one last time to suite guts better as the skull knight finally ceases to exist instead of just turning the dragon slayer sword into another sword of actuation. As stated in this video guts cant do anything else with the sword of actuation other than use it as his last trump card since he doesn't hold the caliber to change the properties himself.

Bingo. I think Skull Knight would fight possessed Guts at some point, and Guts would cut thru behelit sword and power up Dragonslayer to the point where it would hurt God Hand members. I think God Hand would have a civil war amongst themselves at some point. Think Slan would try to seduce Guts and turn him to her side and would be the first one to die , in exactly the same way the Tiddy apostle died in Chapter 1. As for Femto, I bet he would die in Moonchild form, protecting Casca.

The theory in my working head-canon is that Skull Knight (Supreme King Gaiseric, presumably) was eligible to become the next leader of the Godhand, but declined due to either his moral alignment or his refusal to share his crown. I'm aware of the loose thread connecting Void with the mage that Gaiseric imprisoned within the Tower of Rebirth, but there's no concrete confirmation. So I'm thinking that Gaiseric pulled a King Solomon, baited the Godhand with the Mage, and as he sprung his trap, the former Godhand threw one of their famous curveballs and annointed the Mage into the Godhand instead, thus creating Void. Gaiseric was the next in line for annointment, he was able to decipher this (perhaps via torture of the Mage), and prepare a trap for either his virtue or his prestige. Since Gaiseric was considered "Supreme King" of Midland, he undoubtedly heard of the entity known as the "Godhand" eventually and simply saw it as another castle to capture, another land to seize, or another step to climb in his quest for complete dominion. This could also explain why Skull Knight is adversarial to the Godhand, not out of righteousness, but out King Gaiseric's unquenchable conquest.

Gaesric looks Greek/Hellenic themed . His armor other than the skull part follows the tradition of Helmets enclosed with facemasks for Mycenean Kings. Atreus the Father of Agamemnon and Menelaos had both a golden face mask made for his tomb in Myceneas mimicking his bronze enclosed helmet . He ruled the areas around Mycenea and Sparta and all other kings where in a sense his Vassals. His influence spread from the Pelloponese to the Ionian Isles, Hypeiros(Both the modern day Hypeiros and most of Albania) , Thessalia/Pelasgia (Modern day Thessaly, Greek and North Makedonia, modern day Thrace and European Turkey/Byzantium) all the way to the Cyclades and even Crete . He was also in an Alliance/trading with Cyprus. His firstbron Agamemnon inherited his title as supreme warchief of the Mycenean kingdoms. That is how he had the power to call upon all the Mycenean kings and start the war council to attack Troy/Helion (City of Helios) . For basic info on proto Greek tribes : The common named uncestor are the Pelasgians(protoGreeks) with the Paionians being considered as ProtoGreeks due to language,cultural,religious and genetical similarities (Not to be confused with Dardanians-Illyrians or Dacians-Thracians) . They are the descendants of the Mesolythic- Neolythic stone age gatherers that settled on the Balkan/Hellenic peninsula and its Islands, the coasts of Asia Minor and Cyprus around 10.000 to 7.000 B.C.E . Due to the convoluted and almost nonexistent evidence left of their nomadic lifestyle ,their culture, language and other characteristics are lost in time . They Thracians where not a uniform group of people which is what made the existence of a Kingdom for the majority of their existence impossible leading to them being devided into groups based on the cultures each group was closer related to.

He is literally Alexander the Great, while Ganishka is Tamerlan (but with irl Kushan aesthetic). These big conquerors always play a big part in God Hand's designs. Wouldn't be surprised if Gaeseric knew about God Hand before his death and tried his best to stop their ceremonies. Btw, the name Gaeseric is from germanic Visigothic dynasty that took over vast parts of late Roman Empire and had a kingdom that was Roman satellite (on paper). Miura likes to blend his historic influences.

I know there is no information suggesting this but I feel Guts is a Descendant of King Gizrick, AKA S.K. I feel like in no many Anime, the Main Characters seem like random people but they actually come from important people… like Yuske in YuYu Hakasho or Naruto is a Uzumaki and son of the 4th Hokage. I feel like what’s going to happen at the end of the story of Berserk is Guts and Griffith have there show down, now that Griffith has his kingdom. Guts wins, and becomes a great king, as he is of royal blood from SK. Who better to be king that someone like Guts who has endured so much pain and suffering.

spoiler skull night is actually Guts. a maxed out version of him whos can use astral projection to travel through time and space and is so powerful can have his astral form affect its surroundings as it were his physical form.. in another ARC story he messes/changed the timeline which created the current Berserk story with current Guts.
