7:15 The side radiators don't move so much for 2 reasons. This unit only pushes the woofer to full power when it's plugged in. Also, the main passive radiator is hidden in the back that takes most of the movement away from the side ones.

Have y'all tried the ION GAME DAY PRIMETIME party speaker? It's only rated at 60 watts but it puts many speakers to shame! ION is the best sounding for the money in my opinion.

No issue with my Barrell so far. I think its a very good speaker. Being concerned about a 12 hour battery life speaker? What do you listen to music 12 hours in a day or what? I think Skull Candy did a nice job with this one. Good size. Easy to take with you. Easy to connect. Good highs and lows. Crisp sound with solid bass. Loud. Now I just got mine and it doesn't say "XT", but it did come with a carrying strap which is nice so I don't know if this was an upgraded version of it, but overall I'm impressed with the Barrell.

Walmart sold the XT version that doesn't come with the shoulder strap. I think the batteries are different sizes, but some reason show the same play time.

The reason it tuned off is because it says on the instructions that after 15 min of non use, the skull candy will automatically turn off to preserve battery power. there is nothing wrong with it.

Very Very weird about the marketing policy of SkullCandy on this speaker, nowhere and I mean nowhere is the exact battery size listed anywhere online !!!! It's very common to see the exact battery size mentioned online when shopping around, can you look on the back of the speaker and please tell us the exact mAh size? (it should be hardprinted on the body of the speaker or on some fixed label on the speaker, my W-King 60 Watts is 5200 Mah and it's great for apx 70.00 but it does not last 8 hours if played on full volume.

I would look at something like the JBL Encore for that kind of bass. If you have a Sam's Club membership it's still available with 2 wireless mics for $299.

The side passive radiators don't have a lot of action. There is a rear passive radiator behind the casing, as well. Yours isn't defective, it's just how it operates.

On the inside of the speaker the speaker has individual Chambers one for the massive 6.5 inch subwoofer and two Chambers on the side for the 2.25-in mid-range sweeter drivers

Yeah, not the best for sure. Not sure what that translates to high volume, lights on usage. These companies always give the "best case scenarios" for battery life. The Tribit Blast is advertised at 30H battery, which is a huge difference compared to the Skullcandy Barrel.
