I’m running a satyr bard in my current campaign and LOVE IT! He is pretty OP, but I spec’d more into control (buffing and debuffing). I then joined the college of eloquence so I can be more persuasive. I have a few attack spells that are OP even at level 6, but I haven’t used them yet. Instead I buff and debuff while passing out bardic inspiration like candy. Tons of fun to play, and I get to cause mischief and talk my way out of it! There’s more to the game than combat. Having a high AC doesn’t protect you from being persuaded to hand me your weapons and armor.

I'm playing a Satyr oath of ancients paladin. He's chaotic but trying so so hard to live by his oaths. He head butted a teenager who was hunting in our last session and then healed him to try to change his mind about killing animals.

Doing a desert themed one shot this weekend where the Foe is a mage. Built my level 8 Satyr Bard (Maytur ‘the Satyr’ Miftari) to be a mage killer 😉 was fun picking out which spells and tactics would be most useful for this! I'm playing a Satyr character in a campaign right now, actually. I made a Warlock with a Fiend patron, and I actually had no idea that Satyrs would be OP. I just made a Satyr because I felt some inspiration for the character, and the race fit for story reasons for me. (And so far it's been really fun.)

About to start with a Satyr Bard with the College of Glamour!

I'm building a Bard-Rogue multi-class character. Swashbuckler College of Swords, and he's a Satyr by race. With the boosts to stats his Charisma is 18, and strength is 10. He's currently at a Level 4, two levels in each though my concept for continuing the build with be 3 levels of Rogue, the rest in Bard. I'll finish up the build to day and have him ready for play next week.

An Oath of the Ancients Paladin would fit both thematically with a satyr and with the alignment. 5e Paladins are not as bound to alignments as they were in previous editions, and Ancients are clear in both their description, and their tenets, that Law and order is not something they care about. Using the dex bonus, stick with Medium armour, rapier and shield. Grab a long bow for ranged damage. Duelist fighting style is good to boost your damage output, or Blessed warrior for cantrips could work as well with your high charisma. The Aura of Warding stacks with the Satyrs magic resistance, as one provides advantage to saves but no damage reduction, while the other provides damage reduction, but no advantage on saves. Having both really makes you almost anti-magic. Medium armour mastery is a decent feat so long as you obtained stealth prof at some point. Defensive dualist will also help with defense. My only problem putting together this build is the Channel Divinity "Turn the Faithless", which turns fey. Which the satyr is. How does that work? Could the Satyr accidently turn himself? I assume if there was an Ancient Paladin and a Satyr in the same party the Paladin would turn the Satyr, that's the downside of being fey instead of humanoid.

I believe that a Fey Paladin casting Turn the Faithless wouldn't affect them any more than spells like Thunderwave or Burning Hands would damage their caster (they don't). If a spell or magical effect creates an AoE that originates from the caster's position, the caster is not considered to be inside that AoE unless explicitly stated otherwise.

fun video one thing though, you said that satyrs are good for dex based clerics because of there stat bonuses Clerics use wisdom to cast spells not charisma

I said no to a player on this one because of the Fey and Magic Resistance. That's just too much. I don't know what they were thinking when the created the race for players. It is not even close to balanced.
