I am play as Wildhunt Shifter as way of the kensei monk and storm sorceress, she is the daughter of the Bahamut’s Acolyte (her mother was Acolyte) from her tribe, whom they worship dragon god for sense of justice and honor. However, she called upon him one time from the shrine to punish the evil cult’s general, which he did to by using the statue to scare the necromancer general, and her wizard party member defeat the necromancer general. Her party members only know she is Bahamut’s Acolyte, but there is the mysterious reason that her background is yet to be revealed.

I'm currently playing a winged tiefling fighter 1 / Divine Soul Sorcerer 1, Pact of the chain Genie Warlock 3 and LOVING IT. 20AC, flight, Imp familiar, Agonizing Blast and Repelling Blast plus Genie's Wrath and Spike Growth is sick. The plan is to go two more levels in Warlock to get Crusher feat and Grasp Of Hadar. Then pick up Fighter 2 for action surge and go the rest of the way in Divine Soul Sorcerer to pick up Cleric spells like Spiritual Weapon, Spirit Guardians and healing stuff.

played drow for years sadly dont have a group since 5. I preferred to create drow who had to flee the UD for different reasons, back in the day vhaeraun worship, house destroyed (merchant or noble house) etc. Neutral Evil was the standard alignment i took since it gives you all the freedom you need, since drow emphasize deceit and paranoia you could easily blend into a good group for one goal that drow have in common: Surviving. Only wannabe evil guys do bad things in the face of the group, yes many times you deal different with evil factions than other characters. Vhaeraun offers the right point on it, the job has to be done it doesnt matter how :P

A rogue monk is stronger than this guy lets on. First, martial arts allows you to use dex or str for attack like the finesse so you could argue monks always have sneak attack available Second, you can either choose kensei monk letting you use your rogue weapons as monk weapons, letting you benefit from sneak Third, choosing an open hand monk will allow you to knock enemies prone with a flurry of blows, giving you an advantage, so letting you use sneak As for feats, simply having savage attacker lets you reroll damage for your weapon and pick the highest. With these things in mind your average damage will be way higher because you're rolling more dice instead of just having a bigger Die. Rolling 3D6 will have a higher average than 1D8 and 1D6

Have always preferred roll-4-drop-1 d6 method. I love the randomness of it and how a miserable ability might make you get creative to solve something. But I’m starting a new campaign and am begrudgingly going to allow point but as an option. Gotta refresh myself.

As a concept I love the idea of playing a merger of the duo cavalry from the neo-assyrian empire (2 guys on a horse 1 driving and fighting with spear and shield and 1 doing acher things) and the mounted samurai archer giving them a hazuyari (spearbow). Since samurai were big on archery and spear (yari) was a big thing for them too and the neo-assyrians were known as archer-spearmen! This seems to me like an incredible synergistic character concept. It's just too bad that the stats are sooooo diffecult.

Tortle is probably the easiest race for paladin/ranger because of the set AC, so if we add a shield we have very decent AC without having worry 1 bit about were we put our stats. For example we could take 13s in DEX and STR and focus on either CHA through devotion or shove it all into WIS with shillelagh. As such a fae wanderer devotion paladin will make a hell of a lot sense ... or at least as much as a ranger/paladin can make sense. 😅😊

I have yet to use this character since the campaign is coming up and hasn't started yet. The character isn't finished but they are a reborn, circle of spores, kesei, druid, monk multiclass(mostly for rp reasons). They use a short sword and a hand crossbow reskinned as a pistol. They came back to kill the ruler who forced their way to the top and ruined everyone else's lives.

The ultimate F U would be to have false hydra's a staple in the campaign. Every country/continent/island seems to have a false hydra. Eventually you meet a mage on the same mission as you; you come across the tell-tales of a false hydra, but even with all your preparations you can't find it. The mage then unlocks their memories and they realize they've been mind controlled the whole time. False Hydras don't exist, and they've been going around murdering people, and then threatening and extorting the people for all their "quest rewards". The mage has been trying to collect souls to empower him becoming a Lich, and he finally succeeded!" Lol, sorry, this is actually pretty dumb, and could only ever happen in a poorly written book.

You missed a key element of the False Hydra in a game: It's staying power after the session. After all, why should the NPCs be the only ones to forget life-changing events? What precious person or pet did a player lose in this battle that they never even know they had? The most memorable things in DnD are the ones that have long-term effects on the players and their characters. Ironically, in this scenario, forgetting something precious is exactly makes this monster most memorable in the first place.

I'm building a Bard-Rogue multi-class character. Swashbuckler College of Swords, and he's a Satyr by race. With the boosts to stats his Charisma is 18, and strength is 10. He's currently at a Level 4, two levels in each though my concept for continuing the build with be 3 levels of Rogue, the rest in Bard. I'll finish up the build to day and have him ready for play next week.

Mad I found this topic so late. But if you look into the crafting book from the DM’s guild there are some crafting ideas to make the shields all more of a weapon. Spiked similar to lizard folk, and making it an assault shield… but if you are a cleric, forge cleric, you are basically an ambulance running with 2 shield. Heaters you can plant in the ground like it’s a med tent in battle. Put your holy symbol on your gear and run everywhere

So you want to hear about our Grung stories eh? well Let me tell you about Tal'ar the Grung who should be king. Tal'ar started life like any other Grung in a cast spawning pool & survived his earliy life on a yolk sac for about a week then began hunting & devouring his siblings in a horrible cannibalistic frenzy becoming the biggest tadpole in the pool, at which point his village was wiped out by Human Slavers who captured all the tadpoles & put them in fish bowls to be sold as Exotic pets, stasis magic(homebrewed hold person spell with unlimited duration but can only be a rune carved on a mineral or crystal container) was used on the bowls to suspend the tadpoles development until they could be sold in the distant Kingdom of Ravenloft. here Tal'ar was aware of his surroundings but unable to do anything as one by one his tribe was sold to well todo clients, until it was his turn. Tal'ar was purchased by a Human man in an extravagant suit & dumped in a HUGE fish tank of the cleanest clearest water he'd ever seen & more fish than he could count, & out side he could see his new owner a little girl whom over the next few days would just sit and watch Tal'ar and even play with him by running her finger along the glass & drawing shapes by which Tal'ar would swim the shape & even bring things she'd ask for from around the tank like shells, rocks, & bits of the water plants it was fun times. The Girl's name was Jessabelle and one day her father burst into the room hearing her screaming & crying that she couldn't find her pet Squishy who was normally sleeping at the bottom of the tank, it was the butler that noticed the wet prints on the carpet & followed them the the Bathroom to find a small humanoid Greyish green froglet sitting on the toilet, the two locked eyes & the butler back out & closed the door announcing "Young Miss I've found Squishy... but lets five him a moment" this was at the beginning of Tal'ar's 4th month of life, and akin to a preteen Tal'ar enjoyed his time playing with Jessie, as equally as his time sneaking about the mansion learning to read from watching Jessies lesions & his first words were spoken at the families evening meal Tal'ar had asked for a serving of their roast beef, shocking the small noble family. From here on the Whole family had taken an interest in Tal'ar calling in a Wizard to study the strange beast & after some time the Wizard found a book with depictions of what Tal'ar was & gave it to the father who accepted the book but just added it to the study being unable to read himself and unwilling to learn at his late point in life, a choice that would prove to be a grave mistake. Tal'ar had just began his 5th month turning a Brilliant Orange over night and he'd continue his life Studying & playing with Jessie by day, & spending his evenings in the study Learning various things & by far he was interested in 3 books by the Titles of The High Elf Archer, Tricks of the Trade a guide to improving your Slight of Hand, and the book given to the Father by the Wizard One Grung Above a sadly thin book penned by a man whom had never left Ravenloft & only compiled second hand and scant information on the Grung from the accounts of adventurers, it was however he'd found in this book the cast system of the Grung and that his coloring put him one step below the top but he'd also noted his color was brighter than the one used for Orange Grung in the book he'd felt this significant & planed to ask the man who bought him a man who'd said to call him father about the book or to see the Wizard again. Sadly this would not come to pass. I was the start of Tal'ar's 6th month that disaster struck Jessie had died in her sleep after a 2 month battle with an unknown illness, everyone had gathered around her bed even Tal'ar who'd found her, The Wizard was brought in to determine her cause of death & found it to be a topical Poison & from scarring of her mouth & throat she'd been ingesting the toxins for some time the Wizard stated had the father read the book he'd been given his daughter would still be alive & with that the wizard left, & after the services Tal'ar's life would change forever. Tal'ar awoke one night to find the noble women with a pillow in hand kneeling over him ready to pounce then from the shadow's an audible click & Tal'ar reacted jumping out of the way & pulling the Mrs. into the line of fire as the Bullet impacted her shoulder where Tal'ar's head would have been, & flipping onto the ceiling. From there Tal'ar watched as the nobleman ran toward his wife to tie off the wound, Tal'ar made his way across the Celling and out the door & crawled the whole way to the Games room where he'd dropped down & grabbed a pair of hunting knives, & his quiver of Arrows & a Goblin sized shortbow that were gifted to him by the noblemen when Tal'ar had asked to go hunting with them. From then on it was a frenzy of gunfire, & sneaking until Tal'ar seeing there was no talking sense into a household bent on revenge for their young miss Tal'ar made his way to Jessies room & stole a little golden bell Jessies bell as he'd come to call it & ran leaping from the mansions 4th story window & used a sheet tied to his ankles & wrists as a wing suit to glid to the stables where he'd find the last bit of kindness, the Head Cook Martha had his faithful Hound Rufus a Brown Mastiff with a long white muzzle & Black droopy ears Saddled & ready to ride. Tal'ar bid Martha farewell & rode off into the night & non stop putting miles between the mansion & himself only stopping when Rufus collapsed from sickness outside a strange Purple tent Tal'ar drug Rufus inside as tents meant people & people could help Rufus if it wasn't too late. The Shop owner a strange Teifling man examined the dog & Tal'ar & in exchange for offering his name the dog could be saved, with no hesitation Tal'ar spoke the name Squishy & the shop owner forced a brightly glowing green antidote potion down Rufus throat & put on a Magic collar of Poison Immunity & ensured Talar as long at the collar was on the dog He'd not succumb to any poisons & he'd have twice the stamina he'd normally have, & with this Tal'ar & rufus would run until they came to a small port city where Tal'ar would begin living in the seedy underbelly among the rogues & ill repute joining a Thieves guild & Grifting people out of their coin in card games rigged by lacing the card's in his poison during these 4 months he'd learn the tricks of the trade & how to fight & shoot, but most importantly his adult coloring would come in Tal'ar would see he was a Brilliant Golden yellow(Dandelion) his eyes had also changed the whites hade become pitch black while his Irises had become a Brilliant Crimson akin to a Drow. and this is how Tal'ar got started in the Curse of Strahd and its still ongoing but RN Tal'ar's current level is 6 & his classes are Rogue Subclass Thief, Fighter Subclass Arcane Archer, and so far he's been a real credit to the party having the highest AC in the group's backline he's found himself Tanking due to our sorcerer Dragon born being a first timer TRYING to copy an established Dragons build as he states that dragon is his father... and our Bunny girl fighter forgot to equip her armor so she was running into battle naked and caused our Healer to take some hits for her as he was using a shield and had his medium armor equipped.

Ranger falls off hard after level 12. Even most of the 15th level conclave abilities and capstone pale in comparison to what you'd get by taking 8 levels of rogue (4d6 sneak attack dice, cunning action, steady aim, uncanny dodge, evasion, expertise). I would say only take 11 levels of Ranger, but most of the level 9 roguish archetype features (except phantom) are real bad, so the ranger level 12 feat would be better. My current Ranger/Rogue, I chose Arcane Trickster in order to continue my spell progression, and gain some useful cantrips and spell options.

A cleric of the Raven Queen, Ikati was a sailor on a fishing vessel called The Plunk. In port one night, he stumbled out of a tavern to a down on their luck gnome. Being the generous bird he was, he helped the gnome back to their feet both physically and financially. Later on, his now gnomish friend gifted him a clockwork amulet, a gift that fascinated the young Kenku, often imitating the sound made by the magical item. Shortly, the rest of the crew gave him the name 'Tik'.
