@@justiar The way ive always seen it, geo was used as currency years ago back when Hallownest was thriving. Think of it like how gold is naturally occurring and pretty, so creatures (like humans) thought to collect it and place value on it, and make coins out of it. Lemm, Salubra, Sly and others value them out of tradition (and necessity, because there needs to be some kind of currency), but the other husks and bugs just find them around and pocket them because they look nice. edit: ya what peepoo said

I bought all unbreakable charms in my first playthrough, other playthrough I was too lazy so I just changed the unbreakable charms to "true" in the save file so I don't have to farm for hours just to make 3 charms unbreakable lol

Skillful gameplay, interesting choice of runs and a very soothing voice/personality have quickly made you one of my favourite content creators. I'm not even the biggest fan of (watching) Hollow Knight, having only beaten it once shortly after release, but you make it really enjoyable somehow. My thoughts exactly. It would have made collecting the Geo so much easier since he could focus on killing the hoppers while the little good boys bring the Geo to him. He'd just have to make sure he waits for the Geo to reach him before going through room transitions.

1) Sly isn't the only person selling things. Outside the collapse of their civilization, bugs could trade Geo with whomever they meet, not just in a shop in a town. 2) Infected bugs may continue to collect Geo out of habit, as someone is chat said. This can include both on the bodies of people they kill, random cash deposits someone hid, or even pulled from stone walls. 3) If an infected or carnivorous bug killed someone, they probably have a quantity of Geo in their gut. The cash literally spills out of them when killed.

That doesn't say much about how fast you are. I think I was at like over 20 hours before I even found the crystal heart, but by then I had done pretty much everything that you could do with the mantis claw, so everything else went relatively fast. It's been month so I don't remember when I reached 107%, but I don't think I was that slow. My last playthrought was 100% steel soul, it took me about 8 hours.

Hoppers is also how i grinded for unbreakable in my first play through and i figured it was the worst way to it but seeing a speedrunner who is good at this game say that it's at least somewhat optimal makes me feel validated. I always thought that the more animalistic enemies have geo because they ate it, either mistaking it for food or because they're starving. A lot of Dream Nail dialog suggests that they're hungry or want food, and the infection reduces even them to their base instincts. Geo could even be mistaken for seeds or smaller shelled prey items, and ingested that way too. Vengefly King is shown to canonically be eating Zote, it's large enough to prey upon unsuspecting sentient (and formally sentient) bugs. The reason why it 'has' so much geo could just be because it's preyed upon wandering husks who themselves carry geo from their old lives, other unfortunate travelers who probably have a bit more geo in their pockets, and smaller animalistic bugs like mosscreeps, crawlids and tiktiks. It's the same way that my pet snake 'had' a twenty dollar bill because it ate my coin purse once. (furry+warm=rat=food to snake brain, apparently.) All that geo was just what was currently jingling around in it's digestive track. -(Beating a giant angry fly to death to get the money is a lot easier than trying to coax a 12 foot snake to please vomit up the coin purse please my divers licenses is in there I can't drive you to the vet without it the police officer who would pull me over would never believe me.)- This...doesn't really explain other larger megafauna around Hallownest however. Vengefly King is clearly a predator, but Gruzz Mother, the Shoomal Ogres, and Massive Moss Charger clearly aren't. I have no idea why they'd drop a large amount of geo upon death.
