My family lives in jackson going back several generations. Weve never seen anything like this. I saw my mom cousin and aunt n uncles house in this clip. Luckily they are on the top of the hill. My cousin calculated the water coming through it was millions of gallons per minute. I usually go visit that time of the year but didnt this year cause of the flooding. I live in sarasota florida we have gotten flooded twice really bad this year. You dont expect to see it in jackson though, its really eerie.

While my heart goes out to the residents. It appears to me that they have built up the river flats which should be considered floodable areas. at T=6 minutes, the river is almost dammed up by what I surmise is US Highway 71 and its bridge. Early on in the video is what appears to be 2 ball fields underwater. That's a more appropriate use of river flats than a shopping area.

Damn 😿 & here America has 🍊💩 blasting the current Administration for passing an infrastructure bill. Which was needed 24 years ago before these things were set to FAIL. °~•.☆.•~° ❤ Prayers to the families, the victims, the community and the department. Prayers important because the remind us that this s*** does happen and it has its impact.

You folks don't really know what floods are, listen to an old great song like "5 feet high and rising". In Vermont, people mark their buildings higher with each record. You have enough high ground to relocate!
