Sky Aerial Yoga Stepladder Splits and Sky Aerial Yoga Stepladder Dancer are two beautiful intermediate to advanced Sky Yoga Postures that you can now practice in your home with your own aerial yoga hammock. Follow the aerial yoga breakdown steps below and enjoy your yoga practice. Sky Yoga is for all levels but this video is more advanced aerial yoga with antigravity aerial yoga postures to challenge you in a flying meditation.
Steps
1. Start with the thighs wrapped and the fabric in the middle like a backwards thong. I recommend doing this with the feet on the ground first to get the most use of the length of the hammock and taking it higher once you are more comfortable with the pose and the sequence.
2. Left side of the fabric under the thigh above the knee. Sit into the aerial yoga fabric.
3. Both hands to the right side of the aerial yoga fabric and roll to the front twice as you wrap the left thigh
4. Left hand to the fabric and bend the right knee. Left arm extends down for a Sky Aerial Yoga Peter Pan Pose
5. Support the body weight on one hand and unwrap the right leg
6. Lift the upper body up and bring the fabric behind you over the left shoulder
7. Turn to the other side and bring the right leg over the fabric and to the back. Bend the right knee and press out wit the left arm. Fabric under the right armpit on the right side
8. Right knee hook on upper part of the aerial yoga fabric so the fabric is on the lower back
9. Both hands to the loose part of the fabric and extend the arms for Sky Aerial Yoga Sirius Pose
10. Soften the arms and hold up high with the left hand
11. With the right hand bring the loose part of th aerial yoga fabric over the foot
12. Extend the right leg behind the fabric
13. Right hand replaces the left hand and extend the left hand down so the arms are straight out to the sides for SKY AERIAL YOGA STEPLADDER SPLITS
14. Bend the right knee and internally rotate the right leg
15. Square the torso and reach both hands up to the fabric for SKY AERIAL YOGA STEPLADDER DANCER
16. optional: Slide the foot down with the torso high and readjust the fabric to the right shoulder for a deeper quad stretch
To Exit:
Release the foot and hold tight with the right hand. Cross the ankles and sit in the fabric then lower one foot to the ground and stand up. Unwind the wrapped up leg
