They just removed shared spaces in grandma's area (earlier, removed some aspects of shared memories that made them useful). They are removing everything that keeps sky easily playable for me, as a person with a chronic illness, a busy day and an empty pocket. For the last few months I've seriously considered quitting. I'm not even an old player but I'm already burnt out. Sky has become a chore, not an escape. Just another job.

Another thing, I know f2p players might not be valuable to TGC, which is why they keep making everything IAP and all free things expensive, BUT even players who make purchases are getting burnt out. What is the point spending so much money on this game if you get nothing in return? And yes, TGC needs to make money bla bla but are we going to ignore the fact that since the beginning they've been making BANK while still having great items free? (Or at least pass) ANOTHER THING clearly the game can survive without everything being so expensive because the Chinese version has so many free/cheap items. Sure, the government might have some part in it but clearly it's possible. Some players have said that it's because china's economy is down or something...clearly if players show that they can't pay, changes are made. All ot takes is for IAP players to start boycotting or at least spending less. It's a sacrifice for them but I'm sure it would benefit everyone.

Bro, use hacks. U need two devices and two accounts. One is your main account logged in in regular Sky app, second one is your alt moth account opened in app called Canvas with mod Dukun Langit (for Android) or TSM (for PC) installed. Take your alt's hand and teleport on your main around wax places. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get 20 candles a day this way, if u r playing alone (and about 1,5 hours with friends cus they always disconnect and autoburn plants dont work if u r not alone at server). They wont ban your main account for this and most probably u wont even get a warning. Alt account will be banned in 2-3 months but u ll just make another one. Ive been playing like this for 3 months and didnt even get a warning for my main. I CR every day with 2-6 friends. Noone of us got warnings for hacks. Highly recommend. Stop playing "fairly" in a game which is cruel, overpriced and unfair by design. It is they who are cheating, not u. CR & dailies shouldnt take 3 hours every day, it is insane.

My biggest complaint about this game will always be the heart system. TGC isn't happy about people doing heart trades in order to farm hearts, yet they don't add easier ways to get hearts... My only way of completing any of the main constellations was gathering 7+ strangers, and heart trading with them every day. It took up ALL of my candles, and I had no room for saving up candles for traveling spirits or those expensive event items. It's crazy.

Like the one of the Days of Sunlight capes which cost event tickets last year costs hearts this year or the Days of Style ballet shoes which costs hearts as well. Event items which cost tickets are on the year they are introduced and they eventually get turned into igc currency items next year.

Sky easily burns you out. The only thing you can actively do in the game is candle running, which is just the same thing over and over again and takes up a lot of energy. You can get around 20 candles a day with a lot of playing. The other only activities are interacting with people and playing instruments. There are not really any minigames that you can actually have fun with for long. So the games atmosphere and cosmetics clearly carry the entire game. So making it so hard to get candles quick, not letting you skip many cutscenes, restricting ways to get trough the game quicker in actions that require other people and making you wait years for cosmetics to come back makes you easily burnt out. Many sky quests aren’t actually fun, it‘s just „run to x place and press the interaction button“. A simple cape is expected to be at least 20$ and it even gets more expensive in other countries. Often they justified their prices by adding candles (even tho we clearly just want the cape) but nowadays they rarely even do this anymore. They actively make the most lame items free and everything else iap or season pass. And yeah obviously they need to get money but this happens every time. Bugs and issues that have been in the game for years get ignored. My wifi is completely fine but servers freak out the moment 8 people (max) are in it which shouldn’t happen. Dark plants may take multiple attempts to even burn at all. Doors take ages to open despite my candle clearly being on it. Yet bugs that actively benefit players get fixed much quicker. They need to get their priorities straight. The game is repetitive and overpriced aswell as hypocritical considering their entire theme is nature, friendship and social issues, even collabing with AURORA who has a song saying "you can not eat money if the rivers are poisoned". All I'm seeing at this point is operational greed with no care for the communities opinion.

If youre burned out just take a break! Honestly all these problems and they have one simple solution. As for the 20 candle thing, you get 50% of those in the first 15ish mins of a run, just stop doing the 2 hour grind to squeeze out 10 more candles.

​@@coffeebean4246while this is true, it's kinda difficult to take a break nowadays without missing anything that you'd want to, like events, missing out on getting candles or tickets that day to save up, or cosmetics. there's a huge thing with fomo that's been building up in sky, especially with the exclusive collab season with cosmetics / iap that dont come back. some people don't want to wait up to an entire YEAR or more to maybe get a chance of a traveling spirit to come back with the cosmetics they want, or wait an entire year for seasonal cosmetics / iap to come back and that's completely ok. some people just haven't played sky for that long for them to get anything from traveling spirits, or even afford anything they have to offer anyways. so yes, it is nice to take a break, but people like me would like to not miss out on cool stuff while doing so, which tgc nowadays try very very hard to make it difficult to not do so.

As a veteran, i play sky from more than 3 years, and tbh, it has changed. Prices are wayy to explansive, both the iaps, and the 'free' items, like, tf u mean that some hair costs 150 candles😭 (the alice hair event). At this point it's like tgc keeps sky alive just for money, for examples, now there are A LOT more collabs than before, it's not like i don't like em (for example, the season of little prince and AURORA were amazing), but, i feel like they're making them more often to get MORE money, and they are like.. Forgetting about the game itself, the lore for example, let's talk about the season of shattering, i waited for a lot for a season like that, darkness/light these things that probably were about the sky lore, but all the quest were the same and repetitive. I miss the old sky. Now i came back to the game after basically quitting, just relaxing a bit, like, just ignore the cosmetics, enjoy the scenaries, talk with friends and ect.. It's sad that tgc seems to don't care anynmore about their players and the game itself.

I've spent countless hours playing and made many friends and memories along the way. Despite that though, it's clear as day that the game itself has terrible quality control, and some of the IAPs are waay overpriced. I love the game, I WANT to love the game, but tgc is making it more and more clear that they're beginning to not care about that anymore. I'm not gonna say the usual "tgc greedy" stuff that's been said over and over, I'm more concerned about the fact that tgc thinks that releasing an update with game breaking bugs that make certain features literally unplayable is a normal thing and doesn't need fixing.

I've talked about this to my friends SOOO many times already and it always feels like a job. Tgc are taking the community's generosity for granted that with every criticism the company gets, anyone in the community would start attacking that person despite the statement not even being far from the truth. It feels like eversince tgc has been glorified over their 'hardwork' because they're a 'small company', They've been taking advantage of that. Not only that, Tgc never really listened to the demands of the community. They only DO listen if it's a game bug, But even that they relentlessly struggle with. It's pretty ironic for a 'small company' to not have the closer access to hear the demands and plea of the community when it should be their best advantage to have a closer bond to its users.

Theres another issue that not many have realized. I am an oob chibi falling expert (and sky therapist (laughing)) so ive explored almost every nook and cranny possible. Also have had help of hackers to get into areas that we're not allowed into. And slowly over the yrs i noticed an issue that i didnt think too much but seemed coincidence untilll we had the "bug" where if you do the wind tunnel trick and go home you could see the candles or what was once part of the old sky home i think it was that or the dragon. But either way that just made me realize that what i had thought wasnt much was entirely true and that is that they layer the game. They put more code on top of the code. essentially not really fixing the issue but very literally putting a patch of extra code. The issue is still there but with a bandaid. You can also see this with terrains that were changed but when u go oob you see the old terrain still there hidden. Nothing is really being fixed.

Yeah, TGC has a huge problem with spaghetti code. It's the source of the majority of the game-breaking bugs they've been dealing with lately, and with the "patches" that are literally just band-aids over the huge fucked-up bundle of code, it's just getting worse. This game was NOT built to be run this long and on such a huge scale, and they should have dedicated a team to fixing this LONG ago; before they got their movie deal or any of these huge collabs.

My biggest issue with Sky is the way they communicate the bugs. Not everyone has Discord or cares enough to join the official server. I've heard horror stories of some players getting photosensitive seizures due to in-game bugs, and guess what, none are communicated through THE in-game mail, why is it there if only for updates and events? They should show a little more tact and respect for their player's time.

Unfortunately TGC has always been against changes that make crs easier, the nine colored deer candle nerf is proof of that. They don't want players going afk at grandmas or skipping 4 player doors. I'm genuinely convinced that chibifalls and skyrockets only exist because tgc doesn't know how to patch them out. Fun fact, there has only been 2 seasons this year that take place outside of the aviary (both collab seasons), and only one of those have spirits. Genuinely disappointing.

When they "fixed" the shared memory camera bug, a lot of people in the Sky Discord were going "good riddance!" and complaining about how people kept using it to skip multi-person doors. Meanwhile I was staring down the Isle of Dawn candler runs that would now take more time (most of which is basically wasted flying over the expanse of Sand) and also that last candle cake in Vault, at the Very Tip Top. I loved that the camera exploit let me not have to spend time in the elevator cutscene and flying out to the nudibranch/manta (which often gets bugged and freezes behind the invisible wall, meaning we can't light the lanterns and carry on) only to wait in Another Cutscene (which gets bugged too! And you get stuck zooming in Forever until you exit the game and re-enter) And add to that, the camera bug let me get wing lights much faster in certain areas (Prairie Peaks. Have to flap my little wings all over creation for 3 lights)(and also the valley races. I Do Not like the races) But yeah. Sure. Some people were skipping the doors. Not like they can't go chibi and skip anyway. Not like shared spaces can skip too. Not like some people pass by the doors entirely rather than wait. Not like people who enjoy the scenic routes won't take them anyway. Screw anyone who wanted to save some time. And now they're threatening the autoburners at Grandma's? Pray tell _why_? Why is it so bad that players aren't forced to hop and chase after those bouncy wax balls that shoot across the room as soon as one pops? I go to Grandma's specifically to get wax and Vibe(play music, goof off with emotes), not to trip over strangers and struggle to burn the ball that got stuck under the table. By the time we've chased down and burned them all, the next set appears and we do it over again. That means we spend less time interacting, not more! We're not having more fun!

I updated my Sky last night. I was so hyped for the nest update having an easy access outside. Then it doesn't even allow me to visit the roof area. I thought that I'd no longer be confined in my cave and be able to enjoy the wind without walls around me. Unfortunately not the case. Now I felt this confusion of feelings of "Yeah, I can go outside now" and "I still feel caged and feels like I'm in prison". The "I love sky, but TGC is making it harder to" was a sentence that completely explained the feelings I was having while I was doing my dailies. Well half completed it since I just felt kinda... unmotivated.

I'd been asking for a large balcony or garden in our nests since they added nests, but to see the tiny ass windowsill they gave us as a "balcony" made me very disappointed. It's an improvement, I guess, but doesn't really provide much besides the ability to fly down to aviary. And now there's a bug where friends can't see each others' nests, and that actually made me mad when i wanted to show my friend all my decorations ToT

The problem is not that people do not report anything, because they do. The worst thing is that bugs are reported in beta and they still reach the live version. The excuse is that they are a small team and there are too many platforms to attend. They blame hackers for the prices of in-game items. Items with candles and hearts. Which is not true. With the mass bans that have occurred, hackers are dead. There are still some, but very few. They just want you to buy candles. They also make the excuse that they created the tickets so that players could save candles. Anyway. The whole game is broken. Not because of the bugs, the whole farming system is broken. And they have been promising for years that they will fix it, but there has been no improvement.

Guys, fellow hacker here. How to farm candles now: dont use autocandles. Instead teleport around. U need two devices and two accounts. One is your main account logged in in regular Sky app, second one is your alt moth account opened in app called Canvas with mod Dukun Langit (for Android) or TSM (for PC) installed. Take your alt's hand and teleport on your alt around wax places. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get 20 candles a day this way, if u r playing alone (and about 1,5 hours with friends cus they always disconnect and autoburn plants dont work if u r not alone at server). They wont ban your main account for this and most probably u wont even get a warning. Alt account will be banned in 2-3 months but u ll just make another one. Ive been playing like this for 3 months and didnt even get a warning for my main. I CR every day with 2-6 friends. Noone of us got warnings for hacks. Highly recommend. Stop playing "fairly" in a game which is cruel, overpriced and unfair by design. It is they who are cheating, not u. CR & dailies shouldnt take 3 hours every day, it is insane.

Created a new gameplay loop that isn't strictly centered around getting currency. 😅 I honestly agree with you and get this feeling even as a player who has burned out on paying for IAPs in this game and only checks in once every few months, they're definitely taking SOME steps to give you stuff to do, but I don't think it's enough. Plain and simple, the game is centered around a currency, and so they're taking a collectionist approach to its gameplay that such currencies uphold. Honestly it feels to me like the game is sort of contradicting itself, because one side is trying to market this chill, mysterious vibe that the story is, while the other is a mobile fashion game haha. So I have friends whom I dragged to play this game, who liked Journey or the concept of Sky. None of the several I've brought played this game for longer than the initial rebirth loop (up till beating Eden). To most people, this game looks like a simple, single-run experience and the only people who are interested in staying are people who like collecting dress-up games. Because that's what Sky is presenting itself as after the first run. And I think it's valid to acknowledge that, yes, this game is indeed a clothing store, because any people who don't enjoy clothing store-experience games simply DON'T stick around. Is it our fault? They put the chevron candle system because they “wanted to players focus on socializing instead of needing to spend more time candle running”. And then removes all methods that would make candle running faster. Four year veteran player here and they still haven’t fixed the random server jump issue in those 4 years. They slapped a yellow wifi signal when it happens on there and then recently decided to remove that. I run with an alt and it gets so frustrating when sanctuary breaks after every major update. I joined around season of Sanctuary and the world was so captivating to me. But the magic of the world I once felt no longer exists because it's made clear they don't care. Outside of the game quality declining and the company behind it getting more greedy, the one thing that had intrigued me was the story behind Sky. I had so many questions and wanted answers, but it feels as if the story is being made along the way. The magic that had brought in into the world just no longer exists. I'm grateful for the games existence as it has caused me to meet some of my closest friends and create some of my best stories thanks to it's cobbled together lore. But I stand by my point. I know this isn't a complaint most people have, but having a story helps people be engaged. I'm pretty sure I'll find better stories of the world of Sky in fanfic then I ever will in the actual game itself. To anyone who read this far thank you. This was more so me venting out my frustrations, but I still feel it's an important topic to discuss. I wish I could love the game again but it feels so tiring after having played for around 4 years.

I feel exactly the same way, as an Aurora moth even. The recent anniversary just hit even harder. I watched all the "in creation" clips, read all the info in the portals, because I LOVE the story! The story they've seemingly forgotten about. They said they were still working on it within those clips, but you really see no reflection of that left over. There is no more lore. The collabs add nothing to to lore, they just take away time from actual lore, as nice as they can be, and the closest thing to lore we've gotten recently seems to be Aviary, but even then, revitalizing a furniture shop isn't exactly my idea of fleshing out a world... I want to know about the light creatures, the old society. I want to know why the light went out. How we came here. Why our light it so important. I want to know what the light even means? Does it give you life? Or is it hope? I feel like they've touched on these things but never really decided on one answer, and it really shows. They seemingly can't make up their mind on any of the lore, so they just leak tiny tidbits and then rewrite them the next year. Back when I started I was so intrigued, I wanted to know more, I wanted to interact with the spirits and breathe life into the world around me. Now we can interact with spirits, but most of the time it's a chore we HAVE to do, or a season, which CAN be cool, but can also be so laborious. They never touch on the big things anymore. In the anniversary they claimed they just didn't want us to figure it out yet, they wanted to really build it up. But I don't feel any building. Either they are building at a snail's pace or, and what I truly believe, they genuinely don't have any idea where their story goes from here. I seriously think they haven't the slightest clue where us skids go from here, and what their story is even about anymore. It shows through their communication with the community, it shows with the lack of substance/unrelated branches during seasons, it shows with the emptiness of events. There is nothing deeper to this game despite what they want us to believe, or what might have been true a few years ago. I think the devs, or the main ones in charge, have genuinely lost all understanding of the game they are making, and what makes Sky, Sky. I think they've forgotten why they made this game in the first place, and it reflects within their storytelling. They can't write anything compelling and moving anymore because they don't have those strong and motivated feelings about their story. There is nothing to be motivated about. Well that's MY rant anyways 😂 I loved your rant, and you're right, most people don't seem bothered by this either, or I at least don't hear people talk about this much. But it's something that bothers me, and honestly hurts my connection as a player to this game. @ I feel like one of the aspects that most people want to know about but don’t get any answers to are the elders. I see so much fan art of them(especially the twins) and yet they’re never brought up unless it’s merch. The most notable thing done with any of the elders that comes to mind is during the Aurora concert when isles elder was present in one of the songs, but that’s about it. Even their designs don’t tell us much about them or their personalities. This wasn’t a problem when Sky was still a newer game as all the designs were simple, but now the two of the elders apprentices have more interesting designs than the elders themselves. I know this probably due to them not wanting to change their designs as they have become well known, but even giving their outfit more embellishments would help at this point. The last complaint is probably only one that I have as I’m a character designer lol(not to say I’m better then whoever designed them, I’m just a first year art student but I can have my own opinion on this). But I feel that having more elder content might help the game in the story department. But yeah, nothing brings people quite like complaining about something 🤣 I liked reading about what you had to say, and it’s definitely true that they’re just dangling the idea of a story in front of us rather then just putting it into the game. Events doesn't even feel like lore development, just a game pass to get you in-game cosmetics with micro-transactions. Sure, I know most online games does this and it doesn't mean it's wrong. Sky is free game after all, so I expect it to have in-game currency. But AT LEAST games like League of Legends, COD, etc has something that the players could engage with game wise. Sky is just a roaming game where you click shit, collect candles, and buy with candles. This is not a game, this is a chore. Since when did they try to update the "sociable" part of the game. At least Club Penguin and Animal Jam has mini games for you to play with other players. In Sky? None! Nothing! Just sit around do nothing and chat. Why would I even want to do that, when I already have your local discord servers to meet new people. But again, this game is beautiful, I want it to stay the same beautiful game I played years ago. And it is so sad that it has turned into the soulless husk the game has gone to be 😢

Even the stuff they claim to do for charity feels dishonest considering how much some stuff costs(and the fact they have changed who they’re donating to in the past without telling players. But I could be misremembering things as this happened back in 2021). And the frequency at which events are pumped out definitely screams quantity over quality and the stuff is so expensive. It feels that there’s an event happening every other week or so. I can’t even imagine how much everything will cost for newer players since TGC has only been adding more and more items. I remember thinking the rainbow cape costing 175 candles or so was a lot back when it was first introduced. But with how much all the event’s items cost, I could probably easily pay for my college tuition with that amount of money. Like please take a break from the seasons and events and focus on making the game more enjoyable or to fix bugs. For me, as someone who’s been playing for years, Sky was always a place to find cool little areas, explore, and hang out with friends. About a year ago however, I got SUPER burnt out and have never fully recovered. Even with them collaborating with my favorite things (Moomins and cinnamoroll) I haven’t been able to pick back up the game. I only really ended up checking out the cinnamoroll event for a few days and the apartments feature. It’s like there’s a barrier blocking me from wanting to play the game again, and it doesn’t help that most of my bestest friends have also stopped playing.

Recently there was a survey taken and TGC showed us the results during the anniversary. Some of the top quality of life features voted for were among; an option to skip cutscenes, an option to organise emotes, etc. some things they have already implemented and other things they were working on or will soon develop. I was shocked to see that nowhere on the list was “make things less expensive”. I remembered in the survey that that wasn’t even an option you could pick, but then I also remembered there was a custom box where you could add your own idea (I typed in “make things less expensive”). So for it not to be there made no sense to me. Until I realised that on the list some of the options were not even shown. They weren’t marked as “in development” or “working on it”, they were completely greyed out. The most voted on QOL feature (by 25% of the survey-takers) was the skip all cutscene option (something that has already been added). If you look at the 5th most voted feature (voted for by 15% of the survey-takers) it’s completely greyed out. You can’t even see what the feature was. And it’s the same for the 6th and 8th most voted QOL features. I thought… this is so odd. Why would they want to hide them? Well… 1. They clearly have no intention of adding them if they won’t even tell us what they are. And 2. These greyed out features must not have been on the survey at all because why would they hide them if they themselves already put them on the survey? This, combined with the fact that I know most of the player base wants things to cost less pretty much confirmed to me that the 5th most voted for feature was to “make things cheaper” and that TGC are not only blatantly ignoring and silencing their players, but also have no intention of making things cheaper at all.

Journey pack costs about a month's amount of travel fare for me. Granted I travel very short distances. To put it in better perspective, say in if bought in my currency, journey pack is about 1k+ and a day's minimum wage is about 67.31. I'd have to work about 22 hours or about 2.5 days to buy the cape (-sans daily expense food and other shit). I don't mind iaps and cool/cute cosmetics being iap's but if they made the prices STUDENT friendly I would probably buy all oth their shit😊

I feel like it’s psychological the relationship I have with this game.. it’s like that ex that you love so much and have so many bright and fuzzy memories with that you’ll excuse and ignore their bad actions because you just love them so much. I just wish Sky had something else on the table, like actual minigames. Maybe something competitive like snowball fights or paintball fields with silly ranking systems, where ppl can queue up and play with friends or strangers! This could open up new ways of getting candles or cosmetics that aren't just mindless grind or spending our whole savings for some digital shoes. Now I'm obviously not saying it should add a League of Legends or CoD mode in Sky, just that it should bring something that makes players excited to open it up instead of "welp, off to another daily candle run". Another thing that heavily bothers me about sky is that *it is a cosmetics-based game* . See, almost everything we do is run around collecting candles just to buy cosmetics, repeat the same thing for every season + some unskipable cutscenes (some of which are BORING) and there you have it! Usually I'm not on the side of ppl complaining about cosmetics bc that's the breadwinner for most free-to-play games, but when COSMETICS is *all your game has to offer,* it's hard to see it as anything more than a cashgrab with pretty graphics :/

that’s not even the worst part. the worst part is that, in a cosmetics-focused game, they have the audacity to make items that can become permanently unattainable for no reason besides forcing you to spend money. in a game focused around cosmetics, your creativity should NOT be limited. if your game has nothing to offer outside of cosmetics, how dare you pay wall some of them and then make it impossible for people to ever get them again? why stifle creativity by preventing the use of certain items for no discernible reason outside of greed ?

Basically, if you can afford it and it gives you joy to see it, then go for it. If they remove the props at grandma’s and at the doors, then I might move on. I've had am idea that so many sky kids agred to me with... one of the buggest problems (as a veteran from the season of Enchantment) is having time to do all of this. I mean putting days of (insert random event here) in the middle of inbetween seasons makes grinding SO MUCH worse. I mean I WANT the days of music stuff but i just wasted my cabdles on one of the rarest traveling spirits. (To witch i purchased with real mobey cuz i was BROKE)... my idea was maybe to lesson seasons and the grind maybe make it that you have to buy a Season at a certain time BUT yiy couls complete it whenever (and as a veteran i have many season passes unfinished) id love to go bavk and get my ultimates and itd be the best give TGC could give me as a player. It'd also make me want to buy more season passes. What do you guys think?

Would you be willing to allow newer players to also get a chance to get ultimates?? If so, I agree with you, although I know a lot of older players don't want newer players to have access to old ultimates. The only way it would be possible for you to get the ultimates you missed (season reruns) would be to also make it available for newer players.

I read a FAQ with them answering a bunch of questions about the economy and there was a big focus on "we never meant for this to happen! 😢" when addressing people spending so much time on candle runs. They wanted there to be more of a social focus so they removed any potential for passive farming. It seemed like they put prices up to make players earn candles LONG TERM not grind short term. To that i say, EITHER STOP MAKING ITEMS SO TIME SENSITIVE, OR MAKE IT CHEAPER. YOU ARE CULTIVATING YOUR ENTIRE GAME ON FOMO, WHETHER ITS ON PURPOSE OR NOT. Yes. Hi fellow hacker. We should be proud about it and tell everyone. I do magic candleruns with 2-6 friends every day. I help them all collect 20 candles and dailies in 1-1,5 hours instead of 3. Noone was banned or even got a warning in 3 months. Only my alt account which I run on is banned. Then u just make another alt account and continue. It works and Im proud of helping my friends.

Thanks for the video as always! I quit playing sky after like two months so hearing people who kind of have been experiencing this for years is beyond me! I honestly think that TGC shot themselves in the foot with having the game be a free app game, thus prioritizing the micro transactions as their main source of income. BUT these items are purely cosmetic and add absolutely nothing to the gameplay itself which was already lacking (like in terms of traversing the realms). After you complete your first Eden run, what else is there to do but to wait on events that also prioritize cosmetics as rewards? The grind becomes tiring and every little "quality of life" that the players creatively utilize to bypass the arduous daily candle run is patched away by the devs without the devs finding a solution to people's criticisms. The overall concept of Sky is magical don't get me wrong and I enjoyed playing it when I did but when endgame is literally just getting the best cosmetics but the best cosmetics is behind a giant paywall, it doesn't feel very satisfying as a game. Since Sky has a younger playerbase, these prices can be predatory and create a divide against players who do have that spending power and those who are free to play. And game devs usually cater to those who are financially supporting their game, unfortunately.

Fact is, having to rely on friends spending their candles to give you hearts is nice in concept, but it just doesn't work, as candle themselves are already rather uncommon to have a lot of, and not everyone plays the game 24/7, and so this system falls apart and causes "alternative" heart sources to spawn. An other one. Suggestion: The Wind Paths are such a great map, but there is nothing happening really... :( I'm sure you know that one big Air-Manta that leaves a piece of light here and there. How about an Event where a whole flock of Air-Mantas comes to the Wind Paths and does a few rounds in the wind current for 10 or 20 minutes, leaving a lot of light pieces behind for players to collect? :O

I joined Sky right before season of Abyss started. I didn't really notice that many changes at that time, mainly because as a new player I had focused on the main run and the quests for the longest time. That is until I discovered I had to do cr to get cosmetics. I've always just done Praire and sometimes also Forest runs, but I think nowadays it's just not enough. I've been using hacks for a while to get candles faster, but recently i got temporarily banned in Sky for that. I don't know for how long, because before discovering this message I took a long break from Sky (and I generally just stopped visiting that often anymore), but it was for over 8 days, maybe a month, idk. But afterwards, I stopped using hacks just for safety. Now I visit Sky even more rarely. In short, what started as an appreciation for the atmosphere and the main story got switched into an endless cycle of grinding and non-lore-related seasons. I used to join more often at that time just because I had friends there, but most of them left too. Out of everything TGC has announced so far, the only thing I'm actually looking forward to is the Two Embers animation project, which I don't even know the progress of, because I don't keep up with the updates in any of TGC's social media. If they won't lower the prices or at least make cr easier for us, I just want the initial joy back that I had in the game, where the lore and anything related with the Sky kingdom itself was the main focus instead of random collabs and expensive outfits that I outright stopped buying.

I left Sky a loooong time ago. During the season of the little prince/very beginning of the AURORA season. I joined during assembly. Ppl have been speculating the reason why shared space was removed from grandma is that it's similar to how afk wax was removed: ppl would afk at grandma table for hours wait for the wax time without candle running That's the only thing ppl have brought up that im not entirely convinced since grandma can only be done 3 times a day so who khows. Tgc haven't said anything regarding the decision and the removal has only been in beta so far Ig we could still bring our own fire props like the ol' times lol One thing ppl should also know is to not treat the feedback place as a complaint chat. When giving your feedback, try to write with your honest words, give a clear cut view and detail explanations. How feedback works is that one person (or a few) would manage and choose some of the feedback to send to the main devs. So also make sure it's not tldr

There’s a max limit to the amount of wax you could get at Grandma’s so there’s no point in removing shared spaces other than just making it harder for our cr’s. You can visit grannies around 2-3 times before her rice cakes pop without wax and that’s around 1,000 wax.

We can only get wax from grandma up to 2x and can't get more than 10 candles if I'm not mistaken, so to prevent afk farming is not an excuse to remove the player creation from there

Ppl do in fact afk there for a long time, but then idk why the afker and the ppl who used the afker as a reason doesn't take into account how grandma time is limited (should've mentioned that in my comment to clear confusion). Since we khow past helpful/convenient methods (and/or bugs) are removed with **at least** a proper explanation, when this time it's flat out unreasonable. The feature doesn't harm the gameplay that much, so what could possibly be the reason behind this? As this video has raised questions I was also thinking of: Why would they remove this feature when there're clearly more visual/gameplay bugs that needed to be address more than that? They're not the type of people who would do unreasonable stuff like that do they? A big reason for removing the camera memories might be because many players were using hacks and letting others basically teleport to all the places. This was common in vault where They could just collect all 3 floors of wax within about 5 seconds.

You're back! 🤗 Those shared memory candels were not bugs. Yes, it was time saving. But they were hacks. Hackers created them to fast candle running. TGC don't like when someone interfere with the game code. The game is bugy enough to add corruptions from hacks 🤔 About afk farming... Well, I think they want us to play the game, not afking it. But they forget about how time consuming the farm is. Players literally have no time to enjoy the game, communications and have fun. Skykids are always in the White Rabbit's "I'm late!" mode. This is not a healthy gaming. Especially because Sky, in a majority, is a flex-your-collection game, with a "like in real life" communication bit.

I think the shared memory things at Grandma’s ARE examples of healthy gaming!!! It’s the players using the tools given them to create a shared space in a creative way! We can get the cakes while playing someone’s piano or while having a dance party under stars and mantas above us. IT’S SUPER FUN and makes me more apt to go to the ancestors table. I’ve made several friends there while enjoying the props the shared memories bring. It’s a quieter few minutes of fun and rest in the middle of a frantic candle run. It’s a benefit to the game!!!! And removing them is coming real close to being the last straw. I can resist the FOMO and quit playing. If TGC doesn’t realize that, they are willful blind. How does it help the game to alienate the die hard players?? I am extremely upset by this decision by TGC… seriously thinking about quitting.

My friend often asks me to play with her. I say I don’t want to, that I don’t like sky, even though I have been playing for nearly four years and still do dailies, well, daily. Yeah, I don’t like sky. It’s too overwhelming sometimes, there’s a lot of problems. I don’t want to spend two hours every day grinding candles just for one cosmetic to rob me of everything. The past few years I’ve been trying to develop a game called Dynasty of Dragons that is inspired by sky (and partially journey), hopefully mimicking the game’s glory days. I miss the old sky, and while the new stuff like the aviary and concert hall are super cool, it’s starting to get hard to keep up with everything, mostly because of the pricing changes, and it starts to become a little tedious after a while.. log in, light friend stars, do quests, candle/wing run for the rest of the time you’re online, maybe the occasional oob exploring to help mix things up a little.

Sky is so tiring at this point. Everything's so expensive, from seasons,to events, to IAPS, you have to grind at least 1 hour a day if you want to get a decent amount of candles, on top of that, if you want to spend time with your friends it might take longer. Everything's so repetitive, and it becomes monotonous after a while because there is no new way of collecting candles. We spend so much times at gates, especially at the 8 player gate in prairie, glitches arent fixed, unless its an afk or a glitch that offers you candles, they seem so focused to make candle grinding as boring and as long as possible. It is true that no one forces you to buy cosmetics, and it doesn't necessarily affect your gameplay, but i feel there is nuance to that. There are cosmetics in the game that can give you a different experience, for example, the cape that can get you to the office, or Aurora's and Little Prince's capes. The whole point of sky is not only to make friends, but it's a customization game, and having to pay so much effort into getting cosmetics, hinders other aspects and makes the game not enjoyable

hello, person reading this comment. yes, you. not long ago, i was looking through the sky discord and found a very old message from a TGC staff member discussing the possibility of bringing back old ultimate gifts. i don’t have it memorized word for word, but the gist was that “it’s not completely impossible for us to bring back ultimate gifts but it’s currently not something we see as necessary for the game” that was years ago, and now, anywhere you go there will be ‘community helpers’ saying that ultimate gifts will never come back ever, despite tgc staff never including it as a concrete stipulation in the game / game chats. this is to say that: the most powerful thing you have at your disposal is your voice and your complaints. nothing is actually impossible. if you wanted to, you + your friends could flood the feedback channels and demand that now is the time to rerun ultimate gifts. same goes for any other piece of advice. if someone you loved did something that bothered you, you’d tell them. you probably came to this video because you love sky. don’t let a game you love die just because everyone else is complacent. community backlash got the cat ear hairstyle to become an in game currency item for a reason. don’t let anybody tell you that something is too costly or too much of a financial burden to be implemented. sky was meant to be a game where all players could stand on equal footing with each other, and it’s become a classist nightmare of a flex-off because of the inevitable greed of higher ups. costco and arizona tea managed to survive for years and be debt free despite never budging on their .99 cent tea and 1.50 hot dogs. why? because they care more about their clients and longevity than unsustainable profit. tgc doesn’t need to raise prices the way they have to survive. they’re doing so out of a desire to line their pockets. don’t let anybody convince you otherwise or make you feel like a bad person for not treating a corporation like a human being. tgc stopped being a small business a loooong time ago.

2:50 *_they're wHAT?!_* 😭 literally why??? also i know a lot of people reported the camera bugs, because they assumed it was a camera hack... but i agree it's almost as if they don't understand what it's like for players who candle run.... like they want to force players to play Sky longer rather than players playing Sky, because they're ENJOYING the game...

This is why I didn't even felt guilty using hacks. Sold my first account, used a second account and cheats but got banned and now I don't play anymore. Just... Not worth it anymore. Hell, years ago 2020-2021 I CR daily religiously and now even opening the hack and loading it up exhausts me 😂😂 Sky isn't just worth it anymore...

I remember when I was still a moth I was extremely jealous of my other international friends being able to afford IAP's. Iap's are so expensive in my country and it felt so unfair :/. Welp.. now they don't even play the game anymore.

3:05 Gonna be honest, I prayed for those bugged camera memories at vault of knowledge second floor. Made it so easy to get the candle cake behind the door instead of waiting for 3 other players. I never knew how to set them up, but they were ABSOLUTELY explotied there, so i can only imagine how game breaking they could have been elsewhere 😂

I quit in 2022 because the game got way too money hungry, the amount of iaps skyrocketed and they became pricier than before. The in game purchases started becoming crazy expensive too, like why was a single basic-shaped cape 175 candles? The game began to feel like a candle farming job that was pay to play. I only played from Enchantment - Performance, but sky will always have a special place in my heart. Too bad such a sweet and fun game has become corrupted with greed

same here, I quit multiple times to protest but the fomo got me back to grind for a cosmetic and then leave again, it's so tiring and draining, and feels more like a dress up game than a social game

tgc: fixes an actual useful glitch that makes candle running more fun and efficient also tgc: DOESNT FLIPPING FIX THE WHITE SCREEN EPILEPTIC BUG DURING THE DAYS OF RAINBOW EVENT THAT ACTUALLY GIVES PLAYER AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE what is this team even doing
