Definitely agree with you that’s it’s not a gaming tv. The input lag is terrible. Will say the sound is great and it’s fantastic for 4K blu rays

you clearly don't know much about latency if you think 30-60ms is terrible anything below 100ms is fine anything below 40ms is optimal and besides the only real lag that affects gaming is network speed bugger all to do with the tv but nice try kid keep it up

@karazor-el9596 I have very good WiFi speeds and also have an Xbox Series S. Weather you like it or not the sky tv not having a gaming mode adds more latency than you think. This is also the same for offline games so it is not related to lag.

That's the main reason I ordered mines (it's coming on tuesday). I have apple tv, a pc and uhd player to add to this. I won't actually be using sky. Albeit it is there. I only ordered mine so I had a quantum dot display for my uhds mostly. I don't stream my movies. Only stream apple music as it is lossless and brilliant. Other than apple music, I stream nothing..except when I am watching Vids in KZbin. I would love to see someone taking about how this tv works with uhd player connected etc. No one seems to have made a video about this. But give this guy his due. It was a very good review nonetheless. Also good point if you can't get a sky dish it's unlikely your internet will be all that great. But I am not actually planning to use the sky service on my tv when it comes on Tuesday. But I am excited got 65 inch green one coming.

First and foremost, thank you for the video. You're easy to watch and i realise opinion is just that. But you do need to get specifications correct for the viewer to accept your opinion as serious. Sky Glass doesn't come in a 42" format and all three sizes are 60Hz refresh rate. Not 50. They are small but important details. You are correct though. It's not great for gaming. Also, it's not confined to WiFi. You have an ethernet option as well.

Hi Harri, good review, at least you have made it interesting and it is really quite comprehensive. The majority of my issues with SKY is not with the Glass set itself, but with the Puck. if Sky was going to improve the Glass TV I would hope they would make it lighter. The 55" set that I own weighs in at a whopping 28KG so it is definitely not portable, the other thing that SKY could do is write an update to synch the sound bar system to work with external surround sound speakers. I have since bought the SKY live camera, which I thought might be a good peripheral accessory but so far it has sat on the top of the TV unused collecting dust. Lastly, I got the Fascia for the speaker (sound bar) which is neither here nor there. In spite of a seamless connection with SKY Glass, and after all the money spent I have opted to watch SKY Go on my Mac Mini M2 Pro computer instead. The only time I watch the Glass TV is when I have bought a film from SKY Store and want to see it in UHD. So in effect, I spent 1000+ quid on 28KG ,paper weight stuck in the corner of the living room which is only used very occasionally (less than 10- times a year). My advice to those prospecting to buy this TV would be to ensure that you have a good to excellent WiFi connection and ensure above all that you intend to get good use out of it.

Yeh I would definitely say that the pucks are more of the issue and the weight of the tv is ridiculous

Its a really good concept, however I think it needs a lot of improvement for me to consider it. My fear is the WIFI constantly cutting out. Also the lack of recording of TV shows is a major downgrade from what sky q can offer. thank you for your honest review.

They did their usual and had me upgrade… I asked if there was a catch and they said no. Those speakers-there are 6 of them. Only two of them work unless you pay for their monthly atmos upgrade. If you leave Sky, the other 4 speakers are dead! 😢

Really interesting. Do you think 60mps internet speeds would support a Sky Glass TV and a Sky stream box in our flat? Sky claim it's sufficient, but . . . Anyway let us know. All the best mate, and keep up the great work
@harri_shaw
@harri_shaw Жыл бұрын
It’s very complicated because I had similar speeds and it was ok if only 1 person is watching tv. It also depends who your broadband provider is
@benmarshall5235
@benmarshall5235 Жыл бұрын
@@harri_shaw Thanks. The provider is Sky. It's just me and my wife in the flat. And mostly we do watch telly together, but obviously sometimes if she's bingeing MasterChef, and I wanna watch The Soprano's for the umpteenth time we have both telly's on at once. UHD / HDR in both rooms would be ideal And I like the idea of replacing our old LG LED for a QLED I can pay off interest free over 48 months. Interest free.. Anyway thanks so much for getting back to us. BTW how does the picture quality stand up to other QLED TV's?

We have a 55 inch sky glass T.V. and 2 pucks and they can all play 4k video with atmos content at once on our EE 36Mbs Internet wirelessly, the sound from the T.v. is absolutely superb.

Sky glass is absolutely terrible £1300 and sky ripped up my agreement as I’m Muslim and made me pay in one week they accused me of being an extremist because I changed my name , Cassius clay 🥊 changed his name , ignorant small minded bunch of bigots and for this much I could of got an OLED and for gaming it’s terrible , the volume control never worked right the software is terrible and the picture is bad and theHDR on the hdmi doesn’t work and the input lag is terrible it’s just so bad in every way except maybe the speakers and sound , oh and it developed light bleed after four weeks Also wouldn’t help me even tho I’m disabled they sent paramedics to my house after wasting my whole Saturday rather than technical fault finding and helping me

There no rush for sky stream or sky glass. SkyQ is not going anywhere Yet Sky have confirmed satellite TV will still be here until year 2040.
