Sky Lake Catch & Keep Tournament 2023! (GAS BITE & BREAKING RODS!)

We got this year started by driving 2 hours to Sky lake for their channel cat catch and keep tourney! Mat, Chris, and I teamed up to win some money! ANGLIN' A's was also present! It was great to see them!
We hope you enjoy the footage and even some new drone footage. I have been practicing so with it and once I feel more comfortable, I'll fly it over some lakes!

I understand using surf rods at paylakes for giants but I feel like they're overkill for channel cats 😅

Not now most have light custom rods that are high carbon and weight nothing and less fatigue.They rods have more flex to have fun with small fish and lower back bone to land a hog. But they're still guys and gals that like to use heavy glass rods with little or no Bend when a small or big cat is hooked up. That's what they prefer or can afford.

@@ThePigDusters i dont think its the rods that braid has no stretch and no give to it i think thats why some guys snap there rods i mean i use braid to so but i does scare me tho .lol

not tryin ta be a debbie downer, but this aint real fishing, fun for some i suppose, but no skill or dedication involved. Pay lakes to my knowledge are just a for sure catch for a fish fry

Nope! I don't keep the fish! Some lakes let you but I don't. I go and catch them and let them go.
