*Richard Dunn Sports Centre, Bradford* - As seen in the opening titles of *DCI Banks* (along with other Bradford landmarks) if you look very closely.

Missed this at the BFI LFF but it looks awesome as a complicated look on grief. Also nice to see more cool films about muslims, like Mogul Mowgli. Just give me a release date and I'm there!

There have been suggestions that the film is a metaphor for the discomfort of growing up in the UK mixed race, but I think such an interpretation, while not invalid, severely limits the vision at play here. For myself, this film transcends race and deals with a much broader pathological experience - as in dis-ease - affecting many socially disconnected people in modern Western societies, including other, indigenous white characters within the film itself. That's it's appeal, and it would be a mistake to see it through a simplistic, identitarian lens.

I found your comment interesting. I definitely feel more of a disconnect with people. Almost brainwashed by technology, Capitalism seems to dehumanise people , profit above everything. A classic about this & one of greatest remakes Invasion of the body snatchers 1978.
