Hello, what is the minimum charge end current ? and is charging 3 Amps per each cell (12 A total) possible with this charger?

Yes charging 4x Li-ion to 4.2v at 3A is possible! Make sure to power it from near it's max input voltage (18v) otherwise it will try to draw 5A through the barrel jack which is a lot to ask. It could overcharge the batteries.

Unfortunately not hundreds. It only goes up to 99. If you can find a program that can automate the charger that would be best, I've only found ones that read and log the data.

Excellent video. Why is there a separate mode for Eneloop batteries? Aren’t they just a NiMH?

yea they are but it is a special chemical mixture that makes them so good, so they behave a little bit differently than other Ni-Mh cells. It is mostly just getting the charge current correct for the AA or AAA capacity, otherwise it wont terminate the charge properly. This charger makes sure it is correct with the special mode so it doesnt overcharge the Eneloops

Hey thanks for this. I am trying to update my firmware so I can use the app but the software is not seeing my charger. I keep getting an error that says low voltage. Any advice?

you need to power the charger with its main power supply versus only the USB power. If it is powered on with the 15v PSU and the error still shows then you might have a defective unit, you'll have to contact the SkyRC support

Yes, I did some research and found Data Explorer. www.nongnu.org/dataexplorer/ It seems like it is as simple as plugging in the charger, picking the right device and clicking start gathering!

Since I have this one I haven't been looking at other chargers, I think it is the most feature rich and most capable. You could get cheaper ones but it depends on your use case and what is important to you. This one is certainly one of the most powerful and has real circuitry instead of cheaping out with PWM charge and tiny resistors for discharge. I'll update this thread if I find something better. the closest competitor is vapcell 12a (4x 3a) charger which has various functions including discharge). still not sure which is better because they are quite expensive

there is only the app for the phone, to connect the pc you need to plug in the usb cable. There is no BT pin it should just pair when you select it from the list on your phone

when you have a program running or finished it should say on the right side of the screen, otherwise you can press the slot button for the cell that you want to know the capacity the charger put in or took out (the one with the LED's behind it) then you will see the progress or results of the program and you can use the up and down buttons to scroll through.

Charging or discharging based off a preset “mah total” is completely idiotic. Cells have different starting capacities and total capacities.

Your opinion is your own, and yes batteries start at different states of charge but setting the capacity in the software quickly sets the charge or discharge current to typical values which can be changed later. It also sets a limit for charging so if it it puts more than 2000mAh into a 2000mAh battery it will assume something is wrong and cuts off the charge. This can prevent cell damage or a fire due to a missed termination of Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd and a possible “heater” Li-ion cell
