Robert Joaquin Coralde If only, sadly it won't. Adam Young has stated that these songs on the album "An Airplane Carried Me to Bed" where old recording, that he kept secret. After the success of Owl City, he decided to release them. Considering that these are the only recording of he made at the time when he was calling himself Sky Sailing, is a good tell that there probably wont be anymore song or albums. Sorry :(

No matter how many times I've listened to it, I can never tell if it's supposed to be one fixed thing that it's about, but I've decided it doesn't matter. There's a handwritten note pressed in the door of her screened in porch And I am sailing away recalling that day miles from shore She was still wearing white and Robin's egg blue, her grandmother's dress When I left early this year, how I wound up here is anyone's guess When the new sites grow old and I start to feel cold I'll sail home again [Chorus:] Goodbye Brielle Only whispers can tell Of the sweet dreams that we knew so well I'll see you around our dear ocean town The frozen days we set ablaze Sent me drifting away Like a butterfly, you floated by and now you're alone I wish I knew when I'll be back again So until then I wish you well My dear Brielle Strolling over the sand, in cobblestone paths that wind through the trees Breathing the sweet forest air makes a bluebird aware that she could be free When the new sites grow old and I start to feel cold I'll sail home again [Chorus:] Goodbye Brielle Only whispers can tell Of the sweet dreams that we knew so well I'll see you around our dear ocean town The frozen days we set ablaze Sent me drifting away Like a butterfly, you floated by and now you're alone I wish I knew when I'll be back again So until then I wish you well So until then I wish you well I love you my darling, farewell My dear Brielle

Um, I'm crying. Sky Sailing got me through some hard years as a kid. I was stuck on specific songs back then and then moved on to other bands. Never did I know they had a song named, Brielle. That's my littles name🥹❤️
@EngineeringWizard119 жыл бұрын
The saddest part of this whole song is that the young man left Brielle at the altar. "She was still wearing white, and robin's egg blue--her grandmother's dress". That's a reference to the old wedding adage: "Something old, something new, something _borrowed_ (grandma's dress), something _blue_." Almost makes me cry. I think the song is about a young man having to seek his fortune in order to fulfill his marriage commitment? Regardless, I listen to this at least twice every time I put the CD in...

Na it's a man or a sailor leaving the town of Brielle and his girl, not knowing when he'll see them again
@EngineeringWizard114 жыл бұрын
@@jyhina It's the name of a coastal town and a female's name, which is in line with a lot of what Adam Young does. One word, two meanings. But it's more than just that he left his girl. The lyrics were quite specific _where_ he left her, as I said, with the obvious symbolism that she was prepared, dressed even, for a wedding. His girl, named Brielle or not, was left at the wedding altar. Sad either way.
@wintergreendaydream76493 жыл бұрын
For me I think this song is about the place/town in New Jersey named Brielle. "She was still wearing white" implies how the town was still covered in white snow when he came back after some trip
@nathanieljames8677 Жыл бұрын
"Brielle is a little town on the coast of New Jersey. I wrote the song after reading Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson in which he recounts the discovery of a World War II German U-boat sixty miles off the U.S. coast in 1991. The song describes a sailor who is about to leave on a long trip and wonders whether he will ever see the girl he loves again."

I'm a rocker but when I Heard this song from a radio back in 2012, I Google it. The music is relaxing in the ears especially the calming voice. I searched for the lyrics and sang it. years after life has never that easy especially when the pandemic strikes. The world was threatened by COVID and we should stay inside the house. We usually played this melancholic tone. And realized something in the lyrics. There is happy thoughts but also emphasis how is it to be without your loved ones. Now it's 2022 but COVID is still around. we still play this song. It's like everything will be fine just be a positive thinker and pray.

@@amphy7591 Thank you. I just wish I had someone who I could go through this. It is harder to pass through hard phases alone. Feels like no one cares and the light will never show up to save you. Years of it. It's too hard. I hope to see the end of it all.

For those saying this is another Owl City: do some fact checking. Sky Sailing was a project for Adam Young, who is Owl City. Just saying.

This song sounds like this picture this It’s a beautiful fall day, sometime in the early 1980s, the chill in the air rushes as birds and leaves leave the trees. The sun is barely out with overcast and a gentle breeze that offers a brisk welcome to falls wake after a rainy day near Lake Ontario. Apples are ripening, radiant hues of orange and red leaves scatter the yard of two lovers who don’t want to “fall apart”. Truly a masterpiece it may not be the meaning but it’s my interpretation
