My theory was that SPD was created by Wes's dad inspired by his son and the Timeforce rangers and they just used the same suit designs

SPD was around before 2001. The earth branch however started in 2001. Also if SPD wasn't in the main time-line then neither would Dino Thunder which had Tommy Oliver.

I actually think that when spd started experimenting with power rangers tech the first suits they developed were most likely based on the time force suits since spd was being formed around that time.

The quantum morpher which is (if I remember correctly) based on the same technology as the chrono morphers, if not straight up being the same technology as the chrono morphers and we saw how Eric or Erick (however his name was spelt, can't remember) gave his morpher to Wes

Don't know if this information helps but what happened was, Disney was actually trying to buy Fox Family, not the PR franchise itself, but Power Rangers ended up being part of that package and it was an all-or-nothing deal... meaning they couldn't have Fox Family without Power Rangers, but they ended up accepting it since they presumably wanted Fox Family so badly. But that also explains why Fox Family became ABC Family in 2002 or 2003.

I read on a article that supposedly Disney didn’t think it was very kid friendly or matched their brand which is crazy because it’s literally under the “kids show” category but apparently the violence wasn’t on brand for Disney at that time even though they’d later have actiony kids shows like lab rats, mighty med, kickin it & under stuff as well as marvel & Star Wars

Despite Disney has a bad habit on buying boy-centric properties rather than making their own like how Disney made Marvel & Star Wars turned into a serious/real drama to something more sitcomish & too much trumpets/generic music because of Disney has way too much the artillery on using Trumpets in every Boy-Centric brand/property.

My head canon is that Officer Tate had the suit that was made in the later end of 2001. Then SPD rebrands as Time Force like in 2500. Later in 3000, time force has the time force powers, made to look like officer tates' suit as a homage to the first ranger made by their organization. Then Ransik gets away and goes back in time to the time before Time Force around early 2001 (before officer Tate). Wes later let's SPD model their new suits to his ranger suit to try to give the time line a reason why the year 2001 has the suit being used, which is how SPD made their first ranger suit look like the time force powers. This makes it to where both suits are being used in the same year in a perfect loop. I think it's clear that SPD was using previous ranger tech to a certain degree since even their A-Squad team seams to be inspire with one of the few know ranger teams that operated In Space.

@@dwcallum I think time force could have asked the whole group of rangers to show SPD their gear and let them study it a bit. To have an official reason for the suits to be used during that year for the puplic to not know of the time travel. I always assume officer Tate had a whole team.

Fun fact - the prison Mirloc was serving at is the same prison or at least the same facility where Dr. K was held in captivity and where she created all the ranger technology (the two were filmed in the same location, i'd love to find out where one day)

I was just pointing out how fascinating that it was that the location they used for Mirloc's prison was the same location they used for Dr. K's lab in RPM. Disney used a lot of the same locations for all its seasons.

In the picture of Sky with his dad, it's clearly not Wes, but it's still a fun theory, so I will make an argument in favor of it being true. Maybe Sky's mother's last name is Tate and he took her last name instead of Wes'. He didn't necessarily end up with Jen. It was never confirmed either way in show, at least not that I know of. However, for that to happen, he would have had to get over Jen really quickly since Sky would have had to be born not long after 2002 when Wes last saw Jen in show.

He could still have ended up with Jen. 1000 years is alot of distance. Any long-distance relationship is going to have moments of weakness with that kinda distance. Wes slipping at some point isn't just possible, it's likely - and it also gives a good reason for Skye to take the name Tate (the mother's name) instead of Collins (his father's). There's also the whole Wes wanted to choose his own destiny thing. Seems like ditching your family name would be a good way to signal that you want to make it on your own merits rather than your family legacy. Yeah the theory is false and was just a coincidence with prop choices. But it's really easy to make it all work and fit if Hasbro ever wanted too...or at least was until Wes' recent canon appearances in Megaforce & Ninja Steel. Now it'd be a little trickier, seems he's obviously not dead and Sky will be a fully grown man soon.

Knowing that SPD takes place in 2025 (currently 1 1/2 years away)., and that SPA is currently a thing. I hope they connect SPD, and Time Force. Just for the fans that have been following the show all these years. Even though it was a different actor in the costume, they could ignore that.

i reject the concept of alex being wes' descendent, especially with knowledge of genetic probability. It would make more sense if he was wes's clone. lets be honest, timeforce is sus. they hid that alex is higher up in ranks than the captain, they have memory manipulation devices and genetic manipulation devices. who knows what other secrets time force has been keeping. for all we know, the highest ranks knew that ransik would escape and go back to the year 2001 and would be defeated by wes, and they kept this information hidden from the public so that the prophecy would fulfill itself. alex was manufactured using wes' genetic material due to wes's herois, and was raised to become the alex we know to facilitate the events needed for ransik to be captured, escape, time travel, and be captured again by the original hero. maybe alex was even in the position of sarah connor from T5, where he knew he had to be engaged to jen, but fell in love with her for real, but knew she would eventually fall for wes.....

I say that the time force suit is a timeloop. The proto type spd suit was based off of the 2001 time force ranger. Then in the future time force based there suits off of the proto type spd suit. Then the events of the time force events happen starting the loop. I also like to beleive that spd became time force.

I don't think so man. It's much easier for me to believe that Officer Tate received the Powers of Time Force Red from Wes and organizations like Promethea (if its is canon to the show itself. In the comics they are the organization that created Terra Venture), Lightspeed Rescue and the Silver Guardians were the predecessors of SPD. If that's the case it seems fairly plausible for the Time Force Red Powers and the Astro Ranger powers to have been reverse engineered to create the powers Officer Tate, A-Squad and B-Squad used. And a simple explanation for Tate having the Time Force Red powers in 2001, dying, and Wes having them again in the team-ups is honestly Officer Tate having been given the powers, dying in the field, and the powers being returned to Wes. By that time, Kat Manx and SPD could have made what would have ended up becoming the A-Squad Ranger powers and no longer needed the Time Force Red Powers.

Yeah it was just a confusing coincidence that they picked that suit with minimum alterations. But that doesn't mean if Hasbro ever wanted it to be true they couldn't easily retcon it in. The pieces are already in place and it fits nicely. It's really only Wes' recent appearances in Megaforce or Ninja Steel that make it more awkward. The last name thing is really a non-issue. People can change their names (that fits Wes' "choose my own destiny" storyline anyway), or maybe he simply took his mother's family name instead of his father's family name. Could be lots of reasons for doing that.

Well I think that One of Two things first one that SPD takes place on a different timeline and Wes was Sky's father. #2 Wes gave his powers to the silver guardians in which one of them was sky's father. Or in a different timeline the parents of the SPD Rangers were given the time force morpher by Alex in which came out as SPD.

I will say, since Earth did have the Mega Ship from Space Rangers on display for a decent amount of time before Lost Galaxy, it is possible that First Gen SPD suits (used by A-Squad) were inspired by reverse engineering KO-35 technology. The then modded suits we see in SPD are from the SWAT reinforcement enhancements to modernize them for practical use two decades later, though ultimately falling short to the new hotness that was B-Squad's SPD suits. Time Force Red and Quantum would have served as probably a Gen 0 thanks to the Guardians, making B-Squad's SPD suits Gen 2.

I have a different theory. The time force team started out as spd, then they made a sub division called time force to make time travel laws. Just like military having different divisions like army navy and Air Force for example. So the red ranger that was skys dad had to be before alex came along. No he is not Wes's son. But I like to think in the early days of SPD they did probably base their first morpher off of Wes's Chronomorpher and that is why Officer Tate's suit looked a bit like Wes's suit. After this they later made the regular SPD suits we saw in the show.

There helmets look identical, however, after demorphing they don't look the actual in Space Rangers. The in Space Red Ranger is guy, while the A SPD A Squad Ranger is a girl. I think their could be some weight to this theory. Because when I first watched S.P.D after Time Force at some points I did think Wes and Sky looked kinda similar. Time Force and S.P.D do happen in technically the same timeline. The events of Time Force in 2001 and the events of S.P.D in 2025

Its simple really. Officer Tate is the son of Wesley and Jen who traveled to the future pregnant with their son to flee from a collapsing alternate timeline but Jen arrived in the year 2976 to rise him safely before the emergence of Ransik and prepaired Tate to abort such events so he became the Time Force Red Ranger before Alex or Jen even met preventing the transformation of Ransik. Later on traveled back to the year 2003 in OUR Timeforce timeline to capture a villain but by doing so he finally destroyed his own present in the year 3000. Seeing how he had no past, present, or future, he then decided to work in OUR Timeforce timeline with his would've been father Wes and Eric alongside the Silver Guardians to found SPD. The fathers and mothers of the B-Sqad were all either former Silver Guardians themselves or part of the staff. As per the SPS timeline he was killed in 2017.

it wouldn't surprise me though if perhaps the silver guardians and lightspeed rescue merged with the the earth branch of spd. they said spd was around 2001 with doggie, kat, and the parents of the 5 spd rangers. so maybe spd was in its infancy like underground labs or very little space. and with help from lightspeed and collins fortune and silver guardians the spd that came to be in 2025 could have been formed.

Z Delgado parents unknown. Sky dates Sophie and Z dates Seth. Alex Drake the first time force Red ranger is a decadent of Wes and so his his Sister Cyra Deaje the black Time force ranger. So if z and Seth have kids they would be related to Wes same goes for Sky and Sophie if they have kids together

My headcannon on this is probably bonkers but I’ll suggest it. My idea is that Sky’s father is Wes but at some point after Wes’ demise(sorry 2018 isn’t cannon to SPD since in that aliens should already be an accepted part of earth society and they’re clearly not), in the SPD timeline Wes was killed in 2007 when sky was 5 but Sky’s mother was the one who worked with Kat not his dad, Wes met his wife while working as a part of the silver guardians(that episode only stated that their parents worked with Kat but only showed 5 and didn’t state who’s parent was who’s). However following Wes’s death, Sky’s mother remarried either Eric or who knows but since sky held no Ill-will towards his new step dad he took on his new Dad’s name for a reason like a new sibling or something. He likely was too young to know the uniform was called the time force uniform. It’d also explain how it didn’t survive to the year 3000 since it went up in flames and the Helmet may have been lost over time. Wes was destined to die several times over time force he had to run out of luck at some point. Besides with all the different time lines power rangers has….is it really that much of a stretch

When it comes to the chrono Morphers, the other four time force rangers put their’s on and the computer voice said, “DNA locked” and when Wes put his on the computer voice said “DNA confirmed”, which means Wes’s DNA was locked into the morpher through Alex’s DNA. And we all know that Wes didn’t entirely know everything about his morpher and how it worked, since it came from the future. If Wes wasn’t Sky Tate’s father, how did Wes delete his DNA from his morpher? I’d like to hear the producer’s who created Time force and S.P.D explain how Wes figured out how to delete his DNA from his morpher so he could hand off his morpher to a future ranger. How else would the morpher accept Wes as the new holder of the power if Alex never deleted his DNA from the morpher?

Uh Wes still has the morpher he had it in ninja steel so he never gave it to anyone. the logical conclusion in the Spd modeled skys dads suit on timeforce due to data gained from Bio lab study's on the morphers seeing how most other powers dont have data on them other the lightspeed but seeing how lightspeed was government ran and bio lab was a private company it was faster to get their data

Sky is NOT Wes' dad and Wes never "deleted" the DNA from the Chrono morpher. It didn't matter that Wes knew how the morpher worked, all that mattered was Wes' DNA matched Alex's which means they're descendants which makes sense because both characters were played by Jason Faunt. Sky's dad in SPD was not so there you have it.

What if once Cruger came to earth after his planet and people’s destruction he was apprehended by the Silver Guardians, led by Wes and Eric, Wes now having a wife to cope with the loss of Jen, which is how Sky eventually was brought into the world, Cruger and Wes eventually worked out a truce after he informed him that he wasn’t here to conquer earth and was ultimately someone who came here in desperate need of help after everything he had ever known and loved was wiped out, Wes, feeling sorry for Cruger, took him under his wing and trained him in their ways, eventually leading to Wes and Eric both dying in battle alongside Cruger, leaving Sky’s mother alone, leading to Cruger eventually creating Space Patrol delta after the fall of the Silver Guardians, and Cruger’s idea of Space Patrol Delta was modeled after the Silver Guardians, because they were led by the man who helped him during his time of need after he first came to earth so he wanted to honor his memory as best as he could, and similar to what Agent K did with J in Men In Black Cruger had been secretly keeping an eye on Sky as he was growing up and had always intended to have him enroll in the S.P.D academy, I know with this theory the timelines don’t exactly match up but in terms of the actual story of it it seems like something that could’ve happened

No, the pictures Sky had 'of him as a boy and his father) wasn't Wes or Wes looking descendents, it was another Red Time Force Ranger. However I'm not willing to rule out Sky being a Wes descendent from someone who doesn't look like Wes, yet.

Even then both Wes and his decadent, Alex, both look alike, the Tate in the picture doesn't look like either. Sky's father was most likely the last Time Force Red Ranger, a Tate, meaning the Time Force Morpher was passed on to said Tate. This means there might not be a connection to the Collins family (Wes and Alex). But who knows....... Maybe the following descendent Collins is a daughter, which upon marriage she took the name Tate and is the mother of Sky Tate.

No. The flashbacks take place in 2001, while Eric and Wes were already rangers that were different than Officer Tate. Wes or Eric being Officer Tate would've opened a big plothole. Besides, Eric is of Asian descent (at least his actor is) and Sky and Officer Tate are both White so there's that.

My theory is that if there's that much of a gap then wes could have had a daughter who marry a spd officer with the last name tate and then gets the time force red powers passed on but after his death wes takes the power back.

There's a 24 year gap between the events of Time Force (2001) and SPD (2025).... So, Wes' theoretical daughter would only be in her early 20's at best during SPD.
