I'd suggest that the glamour of watching others on youtube from the comfort of home makes it seem appealing to your ego. I guarantee you that the second you're in the plane, it will be extremely different, and you'll likely wish you hadn't gone up. It absolutely 1000% is not for everyone, and a bit scared of heights is one thing, but if you're "absolutely terrified of heights", then you will hate it and not want to do it when you're actually up there in that situation. I'd suggest if anything, go up in a plane with other jumpers first and watch them exit the plane and pretend you're there to do it too. If you don't get a magical urge to jump from a plane and risk killing yourself (even the most experienced sometimes have accidents and unforseen faults, collisions and bad landings), then go for it. But given what you just said, I highly highly doubt it. People like to watch action movies and think running around in gun battles would be cool and exciting, but they aren't. They're horrific experiences. This isn't the same, but people equally watch things like this done expertly and nicely filmed while sitting comfy at home and their ego wants to copy them so they can also feel a thrill, but the actual reality of doing it makes them sick with terror. And you know what? That's ok, because not everyone is supposed to enjoy extreme activities, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just a friendly warning, since I have seen so so many people think the same thing and then cry, panic or even faint when they get up in the plane. And boy, you do not want to faint when you're out of the plane...which also happens sometimes.

I've only ever jumped from craft in the military, everywhere between 700feet and 1600feet. 70% were me smashing into the ground. But it was always an amazing view, especially at night. I would love to Halo jump instead of 100lbs of kit and wobble to door hope for the best . Though, if you can swim, jumping from a helo into water is great fun too. 1000ft or 40ft... fun. But .........man... that view was majestic in your video.

@sebastiannolte1201 Жыл бұрын
"It's so high you can literally see the curvature of the earth." No, you can't. obviously the camera bends the horizon. Like it bends for example the ropes of the parachute at 07:56, which are actually straight. 20,000 feet is not high in comparison to the size of the earth.

“The air and sea search for famed stunt pilot Art Scholl was abandoned Tuesday as the Coast Guard concluded that he did not survive the crash of his camera-equipped aerobatic biplane while performing an upside-down spin to get footage for a movie off the coast of northern San Diego County. The 53-year-old Scholl flew in numerous films, including “The Great Waldo Pepper,” “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” “Blue Thunder” and “The Right Stuff.” He was shooting for the Paramount Pictures film, “Top Gun,” when his Pitts Special plunged into the Pacific Ocean five miles off Encinitas late Monday afternoon. Scholl was regarded as the last of three top Hollywood stunt pilots. The others were Paul Mantz, who was 61 when he crashed in the desert near Yuma, Ariz., in 1965 while flying for a scene in “The Flight of the Phoenix,” and Frank Tallman, who died at 58 when his twin-engine plane crashed into an Orange County cliff in 1978.” LA Times, September 18, 1985

They use a fish eye lens. You can’t see the curvature of the earth from anywhere on earth
@eVill4202 жыл бұрын
It's not actually that noticable, it's atmospheric reflaction diverting light, so they see PAST the horizon, which I think is pretty cool
@CuteSceneChic2 жыл бұрын
dude is using fish eye lenses, Just take a look at the curvature of the seat benched at 0:49 of the video. we both know those benches are not that curved. And take a look at 1:38 you can see the reverse curve of the atmosphere, it makes it look like the the sky is curved inverted.

If I wasn’t scared of heights this would be unbelievable beautiful experience for the soul
@DM-kv9kj Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I dunno if it's so much scared of the height with me. It's more a fear that the parachute can sometimes fail, or someone can collide with you in mid air, or have a bad landing and break bones or worse, or uncontrollably pass out mid air and not be conscious to open your chute, or spin out of control and blow your eyeballs out or some other accident... Even some of the best in the world occasionally can have unforseen accidents, so it's hardly a given that when you jump from the plane you're going to be ok however much training and experience you have. It is not some irrational silly fear, it's a very real fear of very real dangers. People die or become paralysed or injured for life all the time doing these things.
